Yeah, apparently there's a bunch of elections coming up? Not sure if they're local or regional or whatever, but last week there was this shady looking teamster (who about filled every stereotype of a mafioso type teamster) outside the side gate, where we all walk in, canvasing or lobbying or whatever for certain candidates. Afterward, during break, half of the people he talked to said they had no idea who any of the candidates were and simply didn't trust the guy. I'm not a part of the union, so I don't know enough to really comment, but from what I saw, it was kind of surreal to watch the guy do his thing.

You need to make those dogs work for you, and not the other way around.

today at work i did all of my part of one project, and then my half of another project that was split between me and someone else, and then when it became clear that the other person hadn't done his part and it was well past his deadline, i did his part too, and then decided that instead of sending it to the manager and humiliating the other guy, i would act like a Christian and send it to the person who was supposed to do it and let him take credit for it instead since he was already three hours late and i already looked great by getting my part done well before the deadline.

and that is about as close as it gets to solidarity where i work, except that he just forwarded my work directly to the manager without making it look like the (software-tracked) work that i did was his, so it's obvious that i did all of it and he did nothing. oh well.
#649
can u give me that dudes job, i feel like i could resist just looking at buzzfeed and facebook all day like he must be
#650
where i work we are always doing like three things for three different people so i totally get why the guy dropped the ball on this, but i wish he hadn't dug himself in deeper by passing along a work product where every contribution to the current draft has my initials automatically inserted next to it and his appear nowhere
#651
Sounds like he delegated that shit to your bitch ass. Way to go you giant Beta.
#652
just got confirmation that i received all the credit. Perhaps EO you should concern yourself with the Alpha and teh Omega.
#653
where the fuck do you work where things work like that
#654
CIA or FBI?
#655
when you make changes to a document in a modern professional software suite those changes are tracked by contributor and if you pass along a draft that you've claimed to work on where none of the changes are yours it's very obvious so i imagine it's like that in a lot of places
#656
no i just mean socially in that the manager bothers to tell you that "you got all the credit" for whatever deskmonkey job u do
#657
it just came up on a conference call with him and his manager before i took my lunch, he thanked me for doing the other part as well and then we talked about other stuff

work, eh? been there, done that.... no thanks.

You were being a good Christian and giving him a chance to save face and disproportionate consequences for his mistake. He was being a good Christian and refusing to claim credit for work he didn't do. Your boss will be a good Christian and fire the both of you for posting in a known hate site during work hours.
#662
is it post in or post on?

this is like that stand in line / on line debate all over again

Last week my boss pulled me into his office and gave me a $500 bonus and said I would get a 50 cent an hour raise to $ 13.50. I blurted out wow that's really not a lot of money and thanked him for not laying off anyone this year. Then I left today without saying goodbye or merry christmas and I'm going to quit next month because, man fuck that guy. Jobs own.
