considering how well he did on Super Tuesday despite Biden's surge, i wonder how different the race would have been if he had decided to advertise heavily in the early states and bought out all the local endorsements. could have been Sanders vs Bloomberg after South Carolina

in regards to the current timeline, lol at Warren staying in which essentially caused Bernie to lose Super Tuesday and probably the whole primary. really the perfect storm

if you google bernie sandesr, theres a nyt article that i cant read, that is titled "Bernie Sanders Has Already Won The Democratic Primary," which, knowing what the NYT is, means that sometime this week bernie sanders will get burned to death trying to microwave a burrito while one of his campaign managers is caught wearing blackface and providing alcohol to minors
#363
i can't read it either because my ad blocking software is now precisely calibrated to set my computer on fire if i try to read the new york friggin times.

NYT paywall can be beaten on a PC by setting your browser to block javascript and cookies on that page. Many other paywalls with "samples" can be reset just by clearing that site's cookies. Some of the ones that fade in can be beaten by refreshing the page and spamming the ESC button to stop the adblock detector script from running.
#365
Thank you for the advice on circumventing the NYT paywall so that I can access NYT content

if you prefer hard copy you can also steal the physical version of the new york times and place it directly in the trash

In the case of the preeminent propaganda pubs like NYT, WaPo, WSJ, etc you can usually find the articles have all been posted to archive.is as well. If the article already exists it will tell you and prompt you to load the cached version of it when you feed it the url. Also, by doing so you're rightfully denying them ad views and click stats if you don't have an adblocker on say... your phone.

If you engage in arts and crafts, such as miniature modeling or tabletop wargaming, you can also use the New York Times as a mat, and when waiting for your paint to dry, spend some time periodically painting little Hitler mustaches on the different people photographed in the newspaper.

Don't worry folks, our long national nightmare of giving a shit about bourgeois politics is almost at an end

I never gave a shit. I'm already dead.

I’m happy with what the primaries have given to the Americans. It’s embarrassing.

amerikkka is, itself, the long national nightmare
#378
Well, I'm neither thrilled nor surprised at this turn of events. It is what it is, and always has been.

Sure, sure, electoralism will never change the structures of inequality. But neither will reading theory, building alternative power structures, organizing mass movements, bolstering the labor movement, incrementalism, entryism, supporting governments or organizations in the global south, or fomenting open revolution. Not in this lifetime. Please pardon my negativity, as I have pardoned yours.
#381
Yes supporting candidates who want to maintain inequality will never change inequality.
#382
Neither will supporting candidates who want to destroy inequality.
#383
Forgive my embarrassing display, I am upset at the difficulty of changing the course of history.
#384
There haven't even been any candidates supporting inequality under a genuinely capitalist global system that for ex respects property rights universally, doesn't have debt/credit issuance, is pacifist... The actual history of capitalism proves it's no more 'natural' than the inequality that accompanies it.

Jacobin just told their readers they must avoid militancy or even considering a third party because now is the time to become a real good Democrat. LOL

What this doesnt address is: if we take a global perspective: wouldnt the best candidate for President of the united States of Amerika be someone who cannot remember how they were elected or who Amerikas enemies are supposed to be
#388
president cranky grandpa is going to do just fine, bhaskar sunkara's trotskyite vanity project has convinced me of this
#389
Socialist Action is trying to start a third party in the US based off of the success and failures of Bernie, so I’m guessing the goal is to pull all the ISO trots that went to the DSA over to join them with some liberals tagging along. Like some sort of shitty Trot Captain Planet

In keeping with the trot habit of supporting US imperialism, Captain Planet is a military rank

Trakfactri's tea leaf predictions remind me that me and some poster friends thought Warren would lead an ad hoc alliance of labor aristocrats, settler lumpen class shards and radlibs to victory and strangle the very slight upsurge in communist recruitment in its cradle. And that's how we convinced Warren to stay in the primaries.

I'm not going back and reading my predictions but I think I was growing more bullish on Bernie's chances which seem pretty silly now, but left open the possibility for sudden heart attack gun / rug swoosh maneuver to give myself enough wiggle room. Do not read my old posts... they're uhh haunted and will curse you with bad posting spells

long did I battle the scuttling boutade of ISO, their stone-chipped talons slick with the fetid slime of trying to take over all our meetings by email somehow because they had no one in a 50-mile radius to show up in person apparently. But now... for Bernard, and the podcasts, and by Leon’s beard & feet! for Brooklyn and her Significant Discounts... now I lay my scutum athwart theirs in tight & brotherly testudo.

glimmer of hope for Bernie as Biden decides to kill off his own political base

he's mistaken, guns is the most fundamental amerikan right. you can't shoot someone w a ballot but we do vote with bullets every now and then

Trot street protest banner featuring long weird Trot propaganda slogan next to a high-res image of Bernard Sanders looking incredibly confused
#398
my feeling on Trot parties and Maoist microsects are: Trots spend days of debate carefully constructing a single slogan out of then-hot terms from mainstream media headlines to maximize the mass appeal of their professionally printed street-protest banners, and it takes one paranoid-schizophrenic Canadian Maoist five seconds with a marker and a piece of driftwood to come up with a line about "constant renewal" or whatever that better convinces as the output of human beings from the planet called Earth
