If these people aren't actually reading sakai then sakai making a hitler joke in a footnote doesn't have any relevance??
#6682
the hitler joke was communists who didn't read settlers. the other thing is anticommunist radlibs who pretend to

anyway. hitler. not even once

twitter rhetoric is extremely bad and absurd, its full of liberalism, cliques, people who get their politics from memes and weirdos who're super into a "left" racialism and whenever you think "that's too stupid to have happened" it's happened.

it is those things probably, but it also doesn't matter at all. who cares what the person with 1500 twitter followers says about anything. i could get more circulation of my weird opinions by pasting them up in bus stops and it still wouldn't have any noticeable effect on leftist movements.

theres a very long and well documented history of white racism and national chauvinism in the communist movement that you should read about. for some people, encountering certain kinds of communist sects, communism does actually seemt to be a form of settler colonialism.

yeah, since the history of communist organising in the imperialist countries has so often just been edgy liberalism with a red flag, a thing that is still ongoing today, i dont think its very suprising that oppressed people will somtimes see communism as a whole as just that, especially in a settler state. The fault for this lies with those who call themselves communists and arnt, and those who knew this was bullshit but still failed to actually build a build a communist movement that addressed these things, not with those who call them out on their bullshit because the local "org" keeps telling them to unite and fight with whitey, and no amount of "yeah but what about mao" pleading is going to substitute actual meaningful decolonial, anti-racist, anti-settler, anti-parasitism focused communist work to counter the damage done and prove that communists can actually be useful

every possible position will be advocated by individuals, this is why we must always address organizations or tendencies as opposed to individuals when we critique if we're talking about political positions. individuals arent organizers anyway.

Again, a lot of the people who took offense to "communism is white colonialism" are literally third world communists. When they explicitly announced their race and background they were ignored because the goal of painting communism as white settlerism requires their exclusion.

I don't think you can accuse African, south American, Palestinian, indian etc communists of not being sufficiently decolonial. the poster was just being a dishonest asshole

she seems like a nice first nations woman who is mad about idiot boys, being racially abused, not being listened to by the settlers that surrond her in her actual life, inculing the ones that claim to be "radical", and no one giving a shit about stolen land; i dont think communist twitter piling in to call her an idiot was a good thing to do, especially not calling her a cia mouthpiece like that one person did

this person didn't bust out "read settlers" but a bunch of weird "radicals" did in defence of this extremely bad post. there was a very interesting dynamic where the primary defence of this extremely bizzare and ahistorical statement was to accuse anyone who disagreed with it as being a white racist who needs to read settlers (love to be told to read settlers by anticommunists lol). this assumption of being a white american racist was levelled at anyone who hasn't put their census information in their bio, so naturally it landed on a lot of people who weren't. the exact same critique, if posted by someone who'd put their race in their bio or had a non white sounding username, would be ignored

twitter rhetoric is extremely bad and absurd, its full of liberalism, cliques, people who get their politics from memes and weirdos who're super into a "left" racialism and whenever you think "that's too stupid to have happened" it's happened.

that person is probably just trying to be an edgelord but especially in this neck of the woods there are quite a lot of Native activists who are fed up to the back teeth with white leftists being extremely dense and extremely ineffectual as allies

it is fascinating how that shit gets phrased, they describe you calling your bosses bad and put their confidence behind a direct quote offered by an anonymous snitch, then they follow by implying they aren't sure about whether or not it's just a "perception" that you said your bosses are bad, which is how they let you know it's officially illegal for your brain to have that opinion

a core text in contemporary anti-Communism is the movie "Good Bye Lenin", which portrays the Soviet practice of encouraging workers to offer open criticism of life & workplace policy, not as some sort of nefarious plot to jail critics, but as undignified clown behavior not befitting modern management
