Maybe you should get some skills in something someone values. Like programming or plumbing.

you know what, youre right. it was totally insensitive for me to not consider that maybe his people have completely different cultural attitudes towards rapeyness and sexually coercive and hostile work environments, and that just because things are different from my personal worldview or preferred modes of social interaction doesnt mean that theyre "wrong". i apologize for being a huge fucking dick, and would like to make peace with you. perhaps youd like to stay late after work some night when theres no one around for miles and help me drink these two bottles of top shelf vodka i stole from the kitchen like a Cool Boss, one of which is totally not filled with water, nor the other with rohypnol. so how about them Kochs am i rite

i also made the classic social blunder of not even meeting this guy before i prejudged him, instead basing my opinions of him entirely on the unreliable second hand narration of some increasingly deranged, vacillatory, walking red flag, i cant remember who

yo it is okay, at least we can take solace from the fact that we are both in terrible situations (i know i did!) but also ive noticed doing drugs helps me feel like less of a worthless sack of meat stuffed w/shit but i have also noticed that once im not high it feels worse and you need an ever increasing amount of drugs to sustain that feelin of barely livin youve built

im sorry i forgot where i was going with this

theres loads of free v. good quality online courses/instructions & ardiunos etc are cheap as chips

i think the key constraints in becoming proficient in eg electronics is probably the free time you have & a bit of internal dedication for when it gets hard/boring

how much of those do u have?
i could look for some useful stuff for you if you wanted?

#59
lmao the receptionist (daughter of a member) is disabled and walks around w/crutches but the club refuses to get a single handicap door for the bathroom what makes you think anything i say matters
#60
also i dont think osha or anyone ever visits. there are termites and gnats and the handsink doesnt have any soap. it never did.

i've got an okay amount of free time and i can be pretty dedicated when it gets down to it! and that would be super cool but only if u are not inconvenienced in any way whatsoever

http://inthesetimes.com/working/entry/7254/

There are only 2,218 inspectors at both the federal and state level who inspect workplace safety to cover 7.5 million workplaces employing more than 130 million workers. That's one inspector for every 57,984 workers. At this rate, OSHA can inspect a workplace on average once every 129 years and state OSHA inspectors could inspect one every 67 years.

i would start here or here for academic path

maybe check out interesting projects here?
http://hackaday.com/

i dont know too much about electronics, just made some toy projects with my arduino.
get one + components from china, then go thru the zilllions of tutorials out there to built simple but interesting things

also theres probably a hackerspace or some kind of electronics social group in your area; i, as a n00b, had great guidance in what i needed to do

is that in anyway helpful?

that is super motherfucking helpful and god bless you!!!

holy moly enayeneh, are you me? we pretty much have the same life, except I don't work as a server anymore. it all really, really sucks ass tho, especially the fuckers WHO FIND ANY EXCUSE TO NOT TIP. the only useful thing I ever learned from that job is to always tip at least 18-20%, unless the service was terrible. I don't have any useful advice, except to say that fucking around with arduinos and things of that nature is a great distraction, and it's prob the only thing that will keep you from climbing a clock tower with an uzi. welp, that's my post! thanks for reading!

hey OP move to california and live the american dream w/ me, its great, i'm a well-adjusted person who has money to drink myself to death and do lots of drugs and write melancholic words about my existential ennui before i cry myself to sleep but only after 2am because i live above a bar
