theyre not real people but theyre not allegorical either.... theyre psychological caricatures but at the same time theyre just a couple of minor exaggerations away from the general human condition....... and the thing is that sometimes they seem to be aware of this fact.....
#324
Hahaha Its williamsburg hehaha
#325
yes. sometimes i get into weird things, really weird things, and now i can't even post some of the episodes from my life because i found out some people have figured out i'm impper and maybe read my posts from time to time, so i dont wanna post about it, but a heartbreaking things happened to me, that i want to post about, in a houellebecq-ian manner. because i'm wondering if i'm uniquely fucked up compared to the human condition. surely not, but it seems interesting

you should write about them, in a non-autobiographical novel in which the main character is called john

ohhh yeah buddy, it's all going in there haha. i've already written three non-autobiographical novels with the main character named john hehe. time for a fourth. actually my next novel will be in the french revolution never mind. maybe i'll rename the character to "jean"

#330
ive decided that i will abandon all attempts at novel writing for a year and write a bunch of short stories experimenting with wildly divergent styles and forms and maybe then when i next try to write a proper Thing i wont feel so frustrated + constrained
#331
wow million dollar extreme owns though
#332
that's all well and good - when i finished writing the kobe book i promised myself that i would take a break from all writing activities, but after a ridiculous, wacky, absurd waste of a weekend it's sunday and i've been editing (well, and posting/aiming) for about 5 hours so far. it's much easier to burn out from real life than writing, at least for a goddamn freak like me
#333
ive started reading journey to the end of the night... whoa.. wow.. damn. its hitting me like a brick. far more powerful and nihilistic than houellebecq, celine is..amazing.
#334
The biggest defeat in every department of life is to forget, especially the things that have done you in, and to die without realizing how far people can go in the way of crumminess. When the grave lies open before us, let's not try to be witty, but on the other hand, let's not forget, but make it our business to record the worst of the human viciousness we've seen without changing one word. When that's done, we can curl up our toes and sink into the pit. That's work enough for a lifetime.

"Shit! I don’t believe this! Are you murdering girls now, John? Is this why you went to Los Angeles?” He grabbed my arm. “Listen . . . We will cover this up. I do not judge you: each writer has his neurosis, perhaps yours is homicide.”

houellebecq isn't much of a nihilist imho. he's a romantic, he's got hope; celine knows better

There is no port, there is nowhere to go
only the deepening black darkening still
blacker upon the soundless, ungurgling flood
darkness at one with darkness, up and down
and sideways utterly dark, so there is no direction any more
and the little ship is there; yet she is gone.
She is not seen, for there is nothing to see her by.
She is gone! gone! and yet
somewhere she is there.
Nowhere!

i'm pretty sure i could write an anarchist book right now without any research just make references to some european immigrants in the states who blew shit up and spain and talk about how people should vote in a bunch of councils and shit, right? also use the spanish civil war and some other stuff as ways of taking digs against communists / other types of socialists for being 'fascists'

my secret santa got banned for a post he made in the actual secret santa thread so I think according to the law of word-filter sadland I'm no longer compelled to actually send him a goddamn thing, and he should consider himself so lucky to even get the book at all after I've effectively gifted it to everyone on the internet swampman.
