any society will result in some subset of people doing things that are bad for them

that remains to be seen. personal agency hasn't actually existed in any meaningful sense since agriculture was invented

examples of societies with people doing things that are bad for them predate agriculture

That's a little bit true. I don't want to sound like a primitivist or romanticize them, but hunter gatherers tended to be much more egalitarian for the most part and when agriculture develops, you start to see more inequalities of all types develop. Their work week was way shorter despite having nowhere near the level of technology or resources that we have today.

It's not the ideal model but maybe there are some things that can be learned

i live in Mississippi and i absolutely refuse to believe that our grocery store density is lower here than in Montana and the Dakotas. yes i realize population density and distribution and all that but people who live way out in the country are obviously buying their food from SOMEWHERE and despite what anyone thinks its definitely not from gas stations

I'm not going to dispute the existence of food deserts, but the the obesity problem in America is so ubiquitous that I doubt they're a major contributing factor. Even the worst estimates for food deserts don't claim more than 10% of the population lives in one. Even if every single person living in one was obese, it doesn't account for the other 30+% of the population that is obese.

the obesity epidemic is being caused entirely by the sharply declining standards of required physical attractiveness and public presentability. and ASPARTAME

Maybe the obesity "epidemic" isn't an epidemic at all, but a result of our hard work in decreasing body shaming and bullying?

don't forget feeding three little michelin men costs substantially more than feeding three children that appear to be built on a human skeleton. another good way to keep yourself poor imo

#96
Feeding your kids unhealthy food is the cheapest way to shut them up.
#97
are you telling me that fat people are lazy
#98
i just saw a few today. it's cool to see roller mama and her little hamunculi and remember that a substantial percentage of the internet thinks of her as a victim and not an abuser who is destroying her children's lives. i lol twice as much now thank you for that

Everyone elses life is taken up by having to work all week just to keep a roof over their heads and put shitty corn-derived food in their mouths and then people like Goatstein criticize them for seizing a modicum of happiness by eating junk food or smoking drugs instead of attacking the vile institutions that incessantly bloat the work weeks and shrivel the wages giving these disgusting stupid fat poor people very little time to actually improve themselves. All theres time for these days is to earn your keep and watch your kids destroy themselves and secretly hope the world ends.

not all fat people are grotesquely obese. you don't need to be grotesquely obese to experience problems with your diet either or even be fat for that matter.

did you know: the sources being equal, it actually takes significantly less time to prepare and/or eat 2000 calories than 4000. strange but true
#115
hey man i'm not trying to make excuses for laziness, I'm just saying that mayeb you should get your priorities straight.

I'm just trying to make the point that being lazy and fat and willfully ignorant is really its own punishment and you shouldnt waste your precious educated time being angry at sad delusional fat people and you should live your life in a way that sets an example for others.

I'm also trying to say that punching down is mostly bad for the person throwing the punches. i know as a Straight White Male, you've been the target of a lot of unfair and pretty angry smearing lately but just keep your head up and remember that you're not just a Straight White Male Goatstein, but a Beautiful Straight White Male Who Don't Need No Man and despite these circumstances that you didn't choose for yourself you still have the capacity to be a loving, patient, understanding and happy person and yes there will always be people who say terrible and unfair things to you for all sorts of reasons that have nothing to do with you (they're fat, lazy and jelly) and it's going to be difficult but as long as you watch your feet, while holding your head high, the love will shine through and you will be true.

that's a small part of it but I also mean just home ec stuff in general. researching how to run a house on a budget is a subject in of it's own. maybe theres a fancy word for it. Residential Logistics? idk.

we're coming into an age where the necessity for human labor is about to be pretty much erased so hating people for being lazy sounds like a one-way ticket to a peptic ulcer imo
