i think the idea that anyone consciously put that skyscraper up for defense purposes is a little silly because for example the apartment blocks in sarajevo were not consciously put up w. that purpose in mind, god bl ess. besides if you're talking about counterinsurgency-oriented architecture its really like whole neighbourhoods and layouts that r the key not like any one individual building surely

remind me to never follow any of y'all into battle when the revolution comes
#134
Have you guys seen the Tarantino nazi movie? Anyway there's a part where there's a movie within a movie [(breaking the 4th wall to you Imdb buffs) where a guy shoots 500 people from a bell tower. Anyway, that's why the bell tower at Mecca would be a good fort
#135

i just watched world war z last night and the movie praised the occupation in israel because it allowed the israelis to wall off their country to protect from the infection, AND they could allow a trickle of refugees in so they could be saviors as well. Then to top it all off, a palistinian chick gets a microphone and ruins everything.

israel has the best intentions

hi, sorry, i forgot about this thread. long live this spontaneously generated folly of the sensuous Arab & what deadken said, i consider this part of my rhizzone education, like how I recently learned here about the obama / michael page conspiracy to keep revolutions from breaking out at the ISO book club.

look, I Read Sam Kriss and i enjoyed the piquant chimera that military use of civilian buildings during wartime means launching shells from the make-your-own-sundae bar at a 24/7 shot boy/water polo party. but we havent seen many more of those cool posts from everyone else and do we really need 4 more pages of people repeatedly asking how a government could use one form of observation without all the other methods disappearing in puffs of smoke, or puzzling at how the local military could possibly employ a multi-walled complex built on the site of an Ottoman fortress that controlled a still-valuable area if it also features crenelations and a profit margin, or expressing mind=blown at jools' suggestion that the siege of sarajevo took longer because they werent defending a valley full of one-floor tin roof shacks. in that vein i would like to offer a magnanimous truce or at least a moratorium on unfunny posts on the topic past this one. In conclusion, clown balon dot jpeg. Salaam Like Tom.
