the saudis built this ultra modern tower to make a lot of money and also to instantly die if the most valuable part of the city is attacked. the defense of mecca doesnt enter into the saudis calculations for this big, fuckin, tower overlooking its most valuable part because the city has never known war since the rise of the Galactic Republic eighty Millenniums ago.

like who's even attacking mecca in this scenario. is it the Infidels. have the infidels come. because a mile high tower right in front of islam's holiest site, like right in front of it, is a pretty good target for any passing israeli jet. if its other muslims then its probably the one thing they're not going to damage?? is it an alien invasion or something

why would that tower be a good place to defend. everyone for miles can fire rockets and bullets at you. You also can't retreat from it easily like an apartment building

the french hardly had any church towers left in 1946 because among other things the first thing GIs did upon entering a town was fire a rocket into the tower to preempt any sniping. like you could probably shoot a few people from that bell tower in the finest tradition of retired us servicemen but you'll immediately get vaporised by the lapd/whatever insurgents you're fighting
