nice. yea i had mine in puerto rico fro nearly 3 years and by the time i left it just broke during routine tightening. it's literally 90% humidity there every day 12 months a year. i'd have to retune it like every time i got off a plane which takes a good bit even if you're used to doing it and this new one seems to do ok in general

btw my book was only like 15k words and 400 pages in word, which is still very long. and like a third of it was about proving god isn't real because that's actually very easy to do if you assume your audience is capable of actually reading a book

could you do a manga version?

had a really nice moment today when some guy in flip flops was having a loud conversation in his phone while walking at the same pace behind me. it becomes nice. he was talking about his roommate that he didn't like and said "we signed a lease with her, i think we're going to ask her to move out, and sign a new one or something."

so i gave him some helpful advice that if he breaks the lease his rent will go up and he'll probably be charged a fee, oh and if his roommate doesn't want to go there's nothing he can do about it, and that even if he somehow got an order of eviction against her she could fight it in court and stay for an extra six months after the eviction notice was served.

so i got to make him sad but he also thanked me at the end. ahaha

roseweird does it annoy you when east harlem gentrifiers refer to east harlem as just
"harlem"
#388
when i meet white people who say they live in "harlem" sometimes i try to find out casually which train they ride. it's always the 4/6

You need covert video and audio surveillance so you can upload these kind of proceedings to Youtube.

it means a relatively wealthy (almost but not always white) transplant who does not participate in local culture and only buys from stores and restaurants that spring up in neighborhoods specifically to cater to their taste and means. under normal circumstances these would just be "new neighbors" but developers are basically chasing gentrifiers and their parents' money around new york, so we leave a trail of destruction behind us

so if you buy mostly american crap at the bodega but are eligible for all the same forms of public assistance for low-income individuals as everyone else in the neighborhood then what am i. i mean uh then what are you, if you do that

actually the real agents of gentrification tend to be the property developers and such who provide Spaces for white artists, etc etc. sure its not great to live there and be part of that process but the actual motive force behind it is much more conscious and controlled than some kind of automatic white invasion
