Hello everyone,

black rectangles have appeared everywhere we embedded youtubes the old fashioned way for most people. I think this is because chrome or youtube have decided to change or discontinue an old way of embedding. I fixed it, but this sucks for old threads. You can fix it by editing a post and re-saving it with zero changes, and this will regenerate the youtube embed in the new style (it's also much faster which is nice and it means those pages with a ton of youtubes shouldn't be a problem anymore, if they are all new embeds.)

I edited a few recent posts around the forum to use the new style.

This means you can use https:// in youtube urls by the way. You can use:

[youtube]
or
[video]

both are equivalent.

URLs can be https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blahblah or https://youtu.be/blahblah.

We also now have twitter embeds, this means if you paste in a URL to a twitter post, it'll just automatically become a twitter embed thing without you having to do anything else.
