If one's revolutionary zeal is blunted when the most urgent tasks have been accomplished on a local scale and one forgets about proletarian internationalism, the revolution one leads will cease to be a driving force and sink into a comfortable drowsiness that imperialism, our irreconcilable enemy, will utilize to gain ground. Proletarian internationalism is a duty, but it is also a revolutionary necessity. This is the way we educate our people.

if they were "supporting" the kurdish forces in anything but vague symbolic gestures they would not be taking an oppositional line to russian intervention or syrian state security efforts, because the kurdish resistance affirm the necessity of both.

revisited link to show to someone else and lo, we're up to three times (third concerning ukraine). plus pile-on snarking in a thread calling attention to higgins' conflict of interest. immediate recourse to suppression and strongarming without so much as the pretense of discussion to be found anywhere.
it's really clicking for me, as never before, what an absolute lost cause that place has become. still, though, interesting case study on how a few shills in the right place can completely lock down critical interrogation of media narratives

You should definitely do an effort thread on Mein Kampf, it would be awesome to have an essay that shows how modern day anticommunists use Hitler's ideas to make their propaganda today. "The big lie" really does work - it's not wrong to acknowledge that - as long as you don't pretend that is the ethical or desirable way forward.

Internet forums are entirely dependent on who's moderating. It's very easy to delete posts or ban people over and over, especially on a forum with $10 barrier to entry. If a place is "out of control" it can be simply shut down like LF.
We've probated (and in one case, banned) two Marxists recently for very similar problems. Swampman, a Tankie, who had been given plenty of opportunity not to be a conspiracy theorist and failed (and then returned despite being urged not to, with exactly the same pattern of discussion), and Borneo Jimmy, who has a similar relationship with Hugo Chavez and Maduro in Venezuela.

Sorry I should've given some context: an anti imperialist/pro Syrian gov professor was invited to speak at a gel refugee conference... the British SWP organised a campaign to get him barred via their front group called 'listen to Syrian voices' (and their other front group which split off from Stop The War Coalition because they are pro war in Syria)... comments are them ignoring Syrians who want their country free from terrorists as well as other anti imperialists

People hear stories like this and think "why would anyone do that, those oriental monsters" rather than "why would anyone do that, what a load of bull shit". Pathetic
