look at this. literally every poll in 538's "adjusted leader" projection is giving clinton an equal or greater chance of winning of what the poll actually says. sometimes Silver moves the number by as much as five points, so if a poll says trump is up by three, Actually, he's down by two. he says one pollster has an A+ accuracy rating and he adjusts the poll from +2 Trump to a Tie, based on what? fortunately for Silver he's already burrowed deep enough in Punditry that even if the jabbering nerd class has a rude awakening and meltdown on November 9th he's going to skate from being a useless hack with a whiny blog post

people already have been dunking on nate silver since the primary season. he had that "polls PLUS" which like added 5 points for every endorsement or something. everything he did just made the raw data less accurate

The tape obtained by the Post includes audio of Bush and Trump’s conversation inside the bus, as well as audio and video once they emerge from it to begin shooting the segment.
In that audio, Trump discusses a failed attempt to seduce a woman, whose full name is not given in the video.
“I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it,” Trump is heard saying. It was unclear when the events he was describing took place. The tape was recorded several months after he married his third wife, Melania.
“Whoa,” another voice said.
“I did try and f--- her. She was married,” Trump says.
Trump continues: “And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’”
“I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married,” Trump says. “Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.”
At that point in the audio, Trump and Bush appear to notice Arianne Zucker, the actress who is waiting to escort them into the soap opera set.
“Your girl’s hot as s---, in the purple,” says Bush, who’s now a co-host of NBC’s “Today” show.
“Whoa!” Trump says. “Whoa!”
“I’ve gotta use some tic tacs, just in case I start kissing her,” Trump says.“You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful -- I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait.”
“And when you’re a star they let you do it,” Trump says. “You can do anything.”
“Whatever you want,” says another voice, apparently Bush’s.
“Grab them by the p---y,” Trump says. “You can do anything.”
A spokeswoman for NBC Universal, which produces and distributes “Access Hollywood,” declined comment.
“This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course - not even close,” Trump said in a statement. “I apologize if anyone was offended.”
and everyone will be shocked and the media will be lost and blah blah just like brexit. and just like every time corbyn wins his shit again. there is so much appetite for voting the fuck-you option

which is it if you say trump will rip the veil off the niceties of america and show us for what we are
a lot of words trying to untangle trump's contradictory and absurd blather about foreign policy and somehow concludes he wants to manage US decline in a peaceful fashion. enjoy.

that's basically accelerationism.
glomper_stomper posted:i hope forte goes back to normal after the election because this is some lame ass shit and it's been goin on for about half a year now.
he also ignores a lot of trump's own words that contradict his view that trump is somehow different. i mean Trump's support for propping up Saudi Arabia is right out there in the open and Forte just states otherwise.
and the section on trump's anti-iran saber-rattling treats it like some sort of aberration from his otherwise peaceful policies. it's just bizarre.
Rather than the post structuralist attack on apparatus theory as technological determinism (and therefore a priori wrong to petty bourgeois academics), the theory needs to be recovered, further integrated into Marxism, and made even stronger to understand the present age.

What do you mean by this?
do you have any thoughts on what such an updated apparatus theory would have to say about these types of smokescreens? I've noticed how the media tends to to latch on to the farcical, disgusting aspects of Trumps character to the exclusion of the farcical, disgusting aspects of Clinton's. I get the sense that you are calling for an improved theoretical lens to understand this and I am intrigued.
