I interrupted here, saying that the questions of sex and marriage, in a bourgeois society of private property, involve many problems, conflicts and much suffering for women of all social classes and ranks. The war and its consequences had greatly accentuated the conflicts and sufferings of women in sexual matters, had brought to light problems which were formerly hidden from them. To that were added the effects of the revolution. The old world of feeling and thought had begun to totter. Old social ties are entangling and breaking, there are the tendencies towards new ideological relationships between man and woman. The interest shown in these questions is an expression of the need for enlightenment and reorientation. It also indicates a reaction against the falseness and hypocrisy of bourgeois society. Forms of marriage and of the family, in their historical development and dependence upon economic life, are calculated to destroy the superstition existing in the minds of working women concerning the eternal character of bourgeois society. A critical, historical attitude to those problems must lead to a ruthless examination of bourgeois society, to a disclosure of its real nature and effects, including condemnation of its sexual morality and falseness. All roads lead to Rome. And every real Marxist analysis of any important section of the ideological superstructure of society, of a predominating social phenomenon, must lead to an analysis of bourgeois society and of its property basis, must end in the realisation, “this must be destroyed”.

The term "friend zone" was popularized by a 1994 episode of the American sitcom Friends entitled "The One with the Blackout", where the character Ross Geller, who was lovesick for Rachel Green, was described by character Joey Tribbiani as being the "mayor of the friend zone". The question of whether a man can ever "escape the friend zone and begin dating one of his female friends" helped make the "geek dream couple" of Ross and Rachel storyline compelling dramatically, according to one view.

Wrong. I've never read a book in my life cover to cover; I'm functionality illiterate. Though I'm ignorant and know nearly nothing, I am exceptionally intelligent, as evidenced by the fact I've never been wrong about anything -- I have the ideology of a genius.

i think this is the first time i've seen a non-'incel looking gauche-bro' advocating for revolution. pretty cool, even if it's just basic level leftist polemics, it's cool that it's entering the space of mainstream discourse(?)

#8179
yesterday i saw wang hui give a talk at goldsmiths and the room was full of attractive young revolutionary leftists, probably like 60% female, nodding and making notes as he talked about the formation of a revolutionary class through maoist practice so get out more i guess? communism is hip & cool & sexy
#8180
being a communist is Alpha. cool dudes in deep v-necks drinking jagerbombs with their bros at the bar are probably just letting of steam after spending all day studying lenin and carrying out revolutionary praxis

no he doesn't he just gibbers his mockney burble and does the same thing everyone paxman interviews ends up doing where he just repeats the same three buzz phrases over and over again. when paxman says 'you're a very trivial man' he's completely on point.

no i'm talking about like, existing within some popular media periphery. whenever i see someone on tv even closely challenging hegemonic ideology it's someone like alex jones or the like with gaudy aesthetics that causes people to reflexively cringe and if they are genuinely advocating a socialist position then the way they are presented or argue has the same effect. i'm not talking about an existence of attractive leftists thats moot and irrelevant, what i'm saying is there exists no maoist one direction -- that's the issue.
