if movies about slave revolts were so easy, why has there only ever been one mainstream movie about John Brown, which was pro-slavery? How about all those hollywood movies about Nat Turner? this forum has some of the worst opinions about movies i've ever seen, at least for a forum which is supposed to be socialist, anti-racist, and philosophical.

i disagree, his childish movies disguise bourgeois content. The Great Art Project called Stalinism wouldnt have approved, imo
All in all, this is a huge waste of time. It was played seriously, when it should have been directed by Mel Brooks. Don't waste your time.

Sam Hyde i wish these people would all drop off the face of the earth but at the same time there is something grotesquely beautiful about someone who spends 5-20 years of their life going for auditions, trying to get The Big Gig, appearing in commercials, bit parts in shows, worrying about their teeth and their hair, and basically being completely self-obsessed for the formative portion of their life, and then when they enter the "successful & established" phase, and society is sending them signals that they're a big deal and they're important, they take it upon themselves to Save The World, using the reasoning abilities of a preteen. "Is it Green? Is it Peaceful? Is it Togetherness? If yes to any of the above, sign me up."

perhaps one of the few examples of a movie about war that doesn't glorify it one way or another? most ostensibly anti-war films usually end up doing so
even though i knew what was coming at the end from the book, it was still a gut punch

i saw the movie last nite (last nite... she said.. . obaby i feel so down), and at first i was confused about whether or not leonardo dicaprio's character was supposed to be good or bad. then i saw his ugly teeth and that he has incest with his sister, so i guess he's bad.
