well it had some interesting stuff but i don't see why it contradicts any sort of growth theory. "steady-state economics" doesn't really make much sense to me as a thing, like, how does it differ from any other sort of economics except being skeptical about growth. the main argument for "unlimited" growth is robert lucas' one about information. but i mean he says growth might continue for a few hundred years. okay well then why freak out about it.

the good contribution on that from the steady-state school is on entropy and how it limits growth, it is basically lots about ability to produce energy and energy efficiency science usually
i am sure if you searched around that blog it would have something about it on since he is trying to marry physics and economics through green lark
p.s. the steady state school isn't great though as they tend to not understand economics enough to know how exactly to stop limits however they really are quite good on painting major systemic green limits even if they cannot exactly work through how they would become apparent in everyday life
How To Become A White Knight
“But when I say that one should donate to SpaceUnited, well then everyone loses their minds!”
Joker didn’t actually say that, but he should have. Earth needs white knights. These white knights are needed to unite space and humanitarian efforts because few companies do this.
So what do I mean by a white knight? In the movie “The Dark Knight”, Harvey Dent was Gotham’s white knight before he turned into Two-Face. Dent takes on the city’s bad guys.
While we’re not going to take on Gotham’s villians, we are here to help those who need it. As long as Mother Nature and villianary exist, there is a need for SpaceUnited.
Let’s compare Mother Nature to The Joker. Mother Nature is deadly and unpredictable. While science can predict and warn people of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms, it cannot predict the damage that can be done or is done to homes and businesses. Nor can science tell us how many people will be killed or hurt.
Joker plans his attacks while nature strikes at random. Joker has minions and so does nature as there are storms at any given time on Earth. Not just Earth either; there’s the “red spot” on Jupiter. Nature cannot be stopped and it appears Joker is the same way.
So what can be done to combat this? Become a white knight for SpaceUnited.
We cannot stop storms, tornadoes, and other natural disasters, but we can aid organizations to help those who have been affected by it. With projects such as SHIM-1 and HOME-1, we can be white knights for relief organizations.
SHIM-1 is currently fundraising to buy satellite imagery from DigitalGlobe. Their satellites will be positioned over disaster areas and will take digital imagery of the affected area. The photos will then be given to organizations to help direct aid to those who need it the most and can also help these organizations get to their desired destinations if roads are damaged or destroyed.
HOME-1 is also fundraising to help create low-cost sustainable housing. If SpaceUnited can create sustainable, low-cost housing for less fortunate or those who have been recently displaced, there wouldn’t be a need for people to live in tents for months or even years. These people would have a roof over their heads.
BalloonSat-2 is a high-altitude weather balloon that helps people not only learn about near-space sciences but opens the opportunity to develop and research ways these balloons can benefit humanitarian efforts.
All of these projects can be used to benefit humanity, just as Harvey Dent tried to make a better Gotham before things changed. There can only be one Dark Knight but there can be many white knights.
become a white messiah i mean white knight
While we are making a greener world there is something else that Mars needs, and which Earth has in excess. Greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases are vital to the terraforming of Mars. They can warm the surface and increase the atmosphere, thus making it a more friendly place for humans to live.
There are already devices which allow greenhouse gases to be captured but there were only terrestrial applications, until now. The gas can be transported to Mars and thawed there, where it will be used in the terraforming of the planet.
