yeah, and if you have a car accident and then the other person decides to purposefully jam their fist up where their steering column used to be and break it in three places you cannot be held liable for it. similarly, pregnancy + abortion.

also, there's the fact that for pregnancy, both parties are obviously equally at fault, unlike in a car crash where one guy is drunk or w/e.

in abstract terms yeah (although it depends on the situation so no not in actuality) but considering Reality's Intrusion you can't legislate the same way so tough noogies

despite being literally physically tied to the fetus, the woman is legally much freer w/r/t it. Reality's Intrusion is to the benefit of the man, not the woman.

that's why the law attempts to adjust for that you stupid dingus

not to mention cultural and socioeconomic factors that render a man being generally far more appropriate an expected means of support for the child.

next thread lets debate the Marxism Revolution Theory of why men can go topless and women can't. is it fair. is it natalist oppression. where does anime fit in. next, on the rhizzone's retard olympics

yeah, it "attempts to adjust for that" by creating laws and structures that obviously, intrinsically bias against the male genetic parent.

Good.

nature biases against women

so rather than compensating for that to create equality, let's bias against men.

legal equality as one of the principles of justice was not invented by libertarians. justice has been wearing a blindfold since the 15th century for a reason. the civil rights movement's end effect was achieving legal equality.
#143
what a pathetic and limp response. legal equality is bullshit and you know it. it's an excuse to not grant justice.

in what alternate universe? legal equality may often be too weak, but that is because the laws are too weak, not because the principle itself is flawed.

#145
Legal equality, like all equality, strives to make equal that which is unequal. That is inherently unjust. Some people should have legal privileges that others do not have; likewise some should be held to a stricter legal enforcement than others.

Legal equality is born of the idea that it was wrong for some people to have excessively unjust privileges. While that is correct, the equality principle goes overboard. What is just is for a person to have legal privileges in accordance with their level of virtue, neither more nor less.

if something is too weak to enforce justice, then why are you attacking it and demanding even weaker substitutions

youre crazy

laws are often too weak to enforce justice, but you can't have justice in a system without legal equality.

the current paternity/maternity system is unjust because men and women are unequally privileged by it. just like it was bad Back In The Olden Days when paternity tests didn't exist and birth control and abortion were restricted/illegal, it is bad today. a woman who wishes to opt out of parenthood can choose numerous legal routes with little cost to her: abortion, putting the child up for adoption, etc. on the other hand, the man has none except praying really hard.

I have a valid complaint. I am a male teacher and can't get within 100m of a child or talk to a person under 18 outside a formal school setting without having parents, police, and vigilantes swarm to protect their sensitive little minds from the horrors of a positive male role model in their lives.

males are more likely to be pedophiles, so this feeling is justifiable, goes the argument. much the same way, it is okay to fear blacks

cool thanks ron but the solution is not what youve proposed. no one is defending status quo as an actually good and equal social norm
