actually unless you keep piling on a whole bunch more loans to that, the government probably pays enough that that income based repayment plan doesn't end up helping you over the standard 10 year personal responsibility plan.

Well its sort of like an apprenticeship except instead of working in exchange for shelter and sustenance you don't, and instead of getting taught an employable skilled trade you don't, and after you're still an indentured servant.
