1. Millennial criticism of “Boomers” is displaced criticism of capitalism, or (on the right), the welfare state.
2. Boomer criticism of “Millennials”, on the other hand, is mostly just anger at not getting computers, or bisexuality
3. Generational analysis is mostly a waste of time.
#2
Generational analysis can be useful when there are actually serious economic/historical events that affect a population, like the collapse of the Soviet Union

a breakdown by wealth/income level would probably tell us a lot more here, something incidentally true for all "generations" fluff

yeah, no one is mad at retired widower grandmas on social security, they're mad at the owners of the means of production and rentiers, same as everyone's always been mad at, and the convenient liberal outlet for it is "fucking boomers". as if working class parents in the 80s weren't just as shit on as millenials are now.

once again privileged media conveniently ignores the poor section of a group so that they can invent easy distracting stories obfuscating how capitalism fucks us. i suppose it's not their "fault", being as permanently steeped in status quo ideology as they are, but fuck them.

i always try to resist generational shit but the liberal/autistic/stupid part of me always wants to start a fight about how gen x incessantly bitches about the adjacent generations but is itself the absolute fuckin worst, an entire cohort of chelsey clintons whose idea of left-wing activism is promoting R2P in places they never heard of until someone told them it would be a good idea to drop bombs there

but i'm sure that's still bs b/c there's no war but class war
