it just struck me that the methodology of "look at blurry picture/youtube of thing A, compare to picture of B from GIS or wikipedia, declare A is B" is acceptable to the mainstream press when deployed against american enemies but not in its more usual form of proving that hillary has a catheter bag/jet fuel can't melt steel beams/mountains are tree stumps

i've said it before that what brown moses does it basically what goons make fun of truthers for doing except bm's conclusions always blame putin instead of cia/mossad/lizardmen so it's legit to them.

look everyone. i've discovered a new form of journalism that does not require me to talk to anyone

there's a guy on youtube that does this with bigfoot videos and his conclusion is almost always "yep, its bigfoot".

i really enjoy his thoroughness

“To be honest, it looks like a pretty amateur attempt,” Eliot Higgins, a well-respected researcher who has investigated Russian fake-news stories on his Web site, Bellingcat, for years, told me. “I think it should have never been an article on any news site of any note.”

shoutout to propornot for being so shamelessly low that even brown moses can spit down on them

I wonder if there have been many examples of this historically -- some overeager wannabe sidekick that pops up and just annoys the shit out of all the for-real hardworking ops trying to earn their keep

lol

also this whoghouta thing seems like a fine example of citizen journalism, aggregating even BM's own stuff. but:

so, the brown moses lesson here is that an uncritical audience is at least as important as any actual desire to get at the truth

seems awfully damning of the middle east thread in D&D

Pretty sure I've argued with Mark Ames and pals on Twitter, he's probably still sore about that. Having checked him and his War Nerd pals tweets at me I notice they've asked me some stuff, not realising I've had them muted for months. Yasha Levine is another one of their pals I've had muted for ages, I just can't be arsed to argue with people on Twitter who are just interested on working an angle.
