if you don't know what to do that might be useful:
- log in and fuck around with it, i.e. make a post
- make sure it doesn't do anything you don't want and all the buttons you normally use are there
- check out someone's profile
- send a pm

fixes:
- user post history works
- video embeds aren't fucked up
- some other stuff i think

new things:
- putting a twitter url in a post embeds the tweet
- a whole bunch of visual things so that maybe it works on a phone (try it if you want)
- other stuff maybe i don't remember this either

if you mean horizontally centering it then i think that would cause more people to be mad than just leaving it alone.

i agree that rep looks like it's just kind of floating... i re-added the 'Reputation:' thing and made it aligned left, not sure why i didn't do that before, check it out now

we call those wings, and they are NOT for posting.

The forum display doesn't seem to scale properly on phone. In portrait mode it just chops the right of the screen. Threads are not so affected but look weird with text justifying left below the avatar.

Dunno if you've taken a shot at phone display optimization yet.

thanks, yeah -- it's like 75% of the way to where i want it to be -- i think i will have to hide some things in portrait mode on phones to get everything to fit, and i'm trying to just recreate the desktop display for the most part which is probably dumb. but i rewrote all the templates so that now it's just a matter of tweaking little things as opposed to "unimaginably impossible" as it used to be.

yeah. i mean i think a bright red menu bar is dumb anyway, but i'm trying to preserve things with minimal changes so that i don't have to deal with people crying and freaking out and throwing things etc. i will put a border on the top of that box i guess and see how it looks

the entire html has been rewritten basically but i tried to arrange it in a way that recreates the old site visually, which is super annoying to do and it probably looks like i did very little, but seriously it makes so many things 10000x easier to work with. so this is just a foundation and then we can fuck it up and/or destroy it however we want

Black text on dark red background is a well loved feature of highly optimized user interface and definitely something I hope is preserved, along with Digg and fark buttons, a site under construction gif with lots of sparkles, and worldwide imperial capitalism

suggestion: if images and gifs aren't centred videos shouldn't be either
have thread boxes on the forum page match the OP's custom colours

the current rhizzone aesthetic is "top-notch", imo, so if theres going to be any mucking about its a "must" that its packed with some serious features

If we are casting down the icons of old and recreating the forum to suit the needs of the new Soviet posting vanguard going forward, should we consider discarding the "bad posts" forum as a thing which still exists and is viewable? I feel like mods should be able to flush away shit posts and make them disappear, instead of being preserved forever. we already have several other temples to bad posting, called "all the other forums" so one more seems redundant. Yes I know drwhat can delete stuff but in cases of harrassment or doxxing or people going fucking crazy or posting shit which could cause Real Forum Problems like the maggot master "Goon Project:" thing, I think the benefits of easily excising the problem outweighs the minimal likelihood of someone reading the shit posts vault as a primer in the limits of acceptable forum behavior.

hello dr cat, for "phone" feedback, i got three things

1) the header/aesthetic/etc; i took some screnshots


the classic zzone aesthetic we know and love. some may say, well, the text is a bit small and it's not optimized for mobile browsing but overall it's not so bad


so while the original may show too much text this shows nothing at all when i open a thread. the rhizzone header isnt as badass looking and the bookmark bar/shortcut thing takes up a bad amount of space

2) scrolling doesnt slide as smoothly on the new site. like it's really stiff and slow when i slide through the page and doesnt glide like other webpages always do, and a lot of times before i can scroll to what should be the end it cuts off as seen here:

if i repeat my attempt to scroll down a few more times i can get past the red nothing end of page usually but yeah

3) some formatting goes off the side of the text boxes/screen

i checked out the desktop version as well and it looks quite good. some thoughts anyway:

-i think the red background on the header looks sort of forced onto the separate tan forum theme.
-i agree with the users that said the link/bookmark bar should have a top border -or just no borders at all. you dont notice it on the current style as much because it goes up to the top of the logo/page but even here it would be better if it were closed
-id vote to retain the current look of the header, which is good.
-i notice goatstein's name is too long and wraps
-i wouldnt center users 'tars, vids, anything unless someone puts a thing in

tags (which the current forum claims to have but which doesnt work)
-everything else is fine and good as far as i can see
-dont wipe out all the bad posts theres some good stuff in thewre

i hope tihs feedback helps you and i appreciate your hard work. i know i mentioned a lot of stuff but for the dekstop version of thep age really everything is fine and basically done, and seems good.

thanks everyone! the ratio of helpful feedback to goatses is really quite high. i will screw around with it some more and see what I can improve.

re red header vs tan header: yes, I agree it is tacked on, but I'd like some consistency between the front page and the forums. so either imo we change the front page to tan or we put more red on the forums. (also it sucks that the font doesn't load right for the header on your phone ilmidge) I tried a few things very conservatively. maybe I'll try some more experiments and be less conservative since no one has freaked out about anything much so far.

My CIA god mode account isn't working properly. I can still see posters GPS coordinates as well as current mood/fetish just fine. But when I hover over last breakfast it just gives me some HTML code, I think it's mistakenly linked to the notable birth marks database. Please fix
