it might work, he'd realize i was encouraging him to plagiarize a chapter of one of stephen jay gould's books and i don't think he could resist

^this

the fbi and local law enforcement sent letters to various organizations repudiating each other in an effort to increase division (principally between Us and BPP). a bay area member left the panthers and came clean to being a snitch, which caused a frantic search for agents inside the movement. several people were killed and in an effort to decrease tensions the killings were disavowed by leadership, which further increased paranoia about middle cadres (local branch leaders) being informants.

snitchjacketing kills people, thats all i was trying to say, and it seems odd to me that someone active in the period would miss the lesson

#124
its weird to me that you would bring that up in defense of the people who physically attacked him
#125
I think the point is that, we dont know a lot about the circumstances of that beating, so like, what are the ideological differences between the BPP and the NBPP for example? Do your job to educate us
#126
well for one thing they're much closer to NoI or black nationalist/supremacist groups than the old BPP, and some of their leadership has direct ties to the NoI. they're also openly anti-semitic fwiw

e: they're also not any sort of marxist

e2: lol i had forgotten about this, their leader from the mid 90s to the early 00s was kicked out of the NoI for being too racist against white people

that's certainly not all there is to say about them, and it's not proof of anything in particular, but their resemblance to the BPP seems to be mostly aesthetic beyond a fondness for guns

Sucks that these dipshits and also Beyonce are trying to rip off the Panthers. On the other hand, the New Afrikan Black Panther Party... pretty good
#130
Also all actual BPP members say they're in no way related

this group is actually a continuation of the BPP, iirc. it has apostolic succession, if you will

So is Afrikaa bambita a pedophile then... I think he probably is. It makes sense. Kind of off topic but the bpp talk made me think about it.
#134
When I heard the news it was kind of like... Oh I guess that's why he keeps everything secret while telling obvious lies about the CIA or whatever. Before that I was wondering if he was just a weirdo or what.

Through their warrantless wiretaps of BPP offices and residences, the FBI became aware in May 1970 of dissatisfaction among New York BPP members, including Bin Wahad, with West Coast BPP members. A COINTELPRO operation prepared by the New Haven Field Office and submitted to the FBI?s New York Office consisted of an FBI-fabricated note wherein Bin Wahad accused BPP leader Robert Bay of being an informant. This successful operation resulted in Dhoruba Bin Wahad's demotion within the BPP. Aware of his disillusionment, the FBI disseminated information regarding BPP strife to the media and participated in a plan to either recruit Bin Wahad as an informant or have BPP members believe he was an agent for the FBI.In August 1970, BPP leader Huey P. Newton was released from prison. A plethora of counterintelligence actions followed which sought to make Newton suspicious of fellow BPP members, particularly those, like the Bin Wahad, who were on the East Coast.By early 1971, the plan bore fruit. On January 28, 1971, FBI Director Hoover reported that Newton had become increasingly paranoid and had expelled several loyal BPP members: Newton responds violently...The Bureau feels that this near hysterical reaction by the egotistical Newton is triggered by any criticism of his activities, policies or leadership qualities and some of this criticism undoubtedly is result of our counterintelligence projects now in operation. This operation was enormously successful, resulting in a split within the BPP with violent repercussions.

at the same time ive heard that the split theyre referring to is the creation of BLA, while Maroon claims the creation of BLA from BPP was far more amicable than commonly portrayed.

A big part of creating hostile splits is portraying all splits as hostile, regardless of their true origins.

I thought the Race Together campaign was cut short too soon. I got to learn facts about race from a trained specialist in sociology and ethnic studies, and the barista got to experience what it's like being an immodest woman in the third world when I threw my vanilla latte in her face.
