And I’m not advocating for Hillary or Bernie. I like them both but frankly I wish the next president was a conservative only because we had Obama for eight years and we need balance. And not because I particularly enjoy the conservative agenda. I just think the government should reflect the people. And we are about 40 percent conservative and 40 percent liberal. When I was growing up and when I was a younger man, liberals and conservatives were friends with differences. They weren’t enemies. And it always made sense that everyone gets a president they like for a while and then hates the president for a while. But it only works if the conservatives put up a good candidate. A good smart conservative to face the liberal candidate so they can have a good argument and the country can decide which way to go this time.

he goes on to say other ludicrous things like how trump was wrong to call john mccain a coward, etc.

in season 3 of stewart lee's tv show he has an episode where he parodies louis ck style fatherdom humour by starting off with cheesey observations and then escalating them into depressed droning about the death of the sun lol

in the first season he had a skit about american comedians, targeting bill hicks and lenny bruce etc, where the joke constantly repeated is "what are mice, but rat faggots?"

What sounds to you like a big load of trashy old jokes... is in fact... the brilliant comedy of a genius... myself. And that comedy is so powerful, that it's quite beyond my control. And, ah... when I'm in the grips of it, I don't feel pleasure and I don't feel pain, either physically or emotionally. Do you understand what I'm talking about? comedians are stupid. I listen to a lot of Marc Maron podcast. they almost always interpret their growing irellevance as evidence of some sort backlash machine, then they flip their hair to the other side and talk about being Working Comediens that play shows to reactionaries in Dayton, OH

Stewart lee is the best because he undermines and exposes to ridicule the very premise of standup, which is terrible garbage

The main thing that makes standup so terrible is its inherent valorisation of wallowing in the worst excesses of individualism (which stewart lee also ridicules). Gee i wonder why so many famous comedians turn out to be drug addict sex predators
