The USSR is kinda a bad counterexample imo, since without the initial urbanisation I'm not sure they would have had the capacity for those programs. Thered have to be some serious domestic capital destruction for the US to engage in similar programs.

Free Public University sounds damn dumb to me. How about instead of that nonsense we engage in protectionism so it's possible to get a real job without a damn PHD.

There are virtually no references to Enver Hoxha in the article. B+.

'education' itself should be transformed so that all work includes learning and all learning includes work.

tHE rHizzonE has gotten pretty slow lately. I take it all the 'zzoner regulars have moved to the D&D Bernie megathread?

American politics isn't a worthy topic for discussion under the new rhizzone moderation regime, this forum is for posting pages from PDFs and the most lfest pics u got.

Santorum closing up shop immediately after the Iowa caucus is hardly a surprise. He narrowly won there in 2012 before being steamrolled by Mitt Romney, and if his 2016 campaign was going to be relevant in any way it would have started with a surprising showing in Iowa. Instead, Santorum picked up 1 percent of the vote, finishing ahead of only Jim Gilmore, who received 12 total votes.

lmao
#333
Someone get Jim Gilmore an account
#334
So is it good or bad for Bernie sanders to end in a virtual tie. Some web sites say good. But others say bad. Not sure which is true
#335
It isn't totally bad, but it would be much better if he ended on a railroad tie
#336
This afternoon my mom sent me a picture of her shaking hands w Ted Cruz lmao
#337
I might drive up there tomorrow AM to attend crazy Republican things and write a Thing (frontpage material) based on Neuman and Shirers work on the rize of Nazism in capitalist Germany
#338
do that please and also please make the front page pic either you shaking hands with ted cruz or a dead baby
#339
I would try and do both but I probably won't be able to get a pic of Cruz and a dead baby because I'm probably not gonna get invited to the 3 am afterparty

Update: my mom met Jeb Bush also

Bernie is probably ok with Chavez and finds Saudi monarchy creepy but those positions are suicidal in American politics. If he got elected he wouldn't do much at all, which is actually a good thing esp. for American foreign policy.

it seems impossible but a reporter managed to locate one of the rarest of voterrs: the jim gilmore supporter.

DES MOINES, Iowa -- A total of 12 people voted for Republican presidential candidate Jim Gilmore in Monday night's Iowa caucuses. That's across the entire state. Twelve.

One of them is Troy Bishop. He lives in Des Moines, and he's anything but disheartened by Gilmore's dismal showing at the polls. He said the former Virginia governor actually did better than he expected.

"He exceeded expectations," Bishop said in an interview with The Huffington Post. "I mean, look at some of the other candidates. Look at the money they spent. They got 3,000 votes. He didn't spend any money and got 12."
#351
thats literally an infinite number of votes per dollar. jim gilmore, as efficient as an ant is strong
#352
it's really funny to me that hillary clinton is going to win because people are just aghast that someone is calling her a cunt on twitter
#353
the year: 20XX. all election campaigns employ powerful computer and distributed network technologies first developed for high-frequency trading, capable of posting millions of tweets every second. each tweet exists as a procedurally generated insult at the candidate themselves. the candidate who accumulates the most total insults in a calendar election year is declared the winner. however, the most objectively loathsome candidate is the easiest for the programs to generate insults for and therefore has the inherent advantage. a candidate is no longer considered electable unless they are both a furry and possess visible swastika tattoos. the net result is mostly the same

Oh, no, Moore and some folks of his stripe will shoot back. I’d love to see a woman president. Just not that woman. Moore and other Sanders supporters would say, more precisely, not that corporate shill war monger etc etc. They’d insist that they’d be perfectly content to back another woman. But then, somehow, the years pass and that other woman doesn’t come along. Or she comes along and it turns out, wouldn’t you know it, that there are certain particular reasons to be against her, too.
...
The fact is that Hillary Clinton is the woman who has a good chance of becoming president. And the further fact is that her flaws, from the left point of view, are inescapably commingled with the very reasons that she happens to be in a position to be elected president. Like it or not, a woman has to “prove” she’s tough on foreign policy in a way most men do not. A woman, especially one who was a senator from New York, has to reassure the financial elites, a world of certain attitudes toward women and of ceaseless and tasteless female-anatomy jokes, in a way that a man just doesn’t have to. And so on, and so on, and so on. Many of the very things that make Clinton anathema to the left are exactly the things that have enabled her to become a viable presidential contender as a woman.

im going to kill myself

“Watch or you’re sexist.”...the tagline is obviously a joke. But also, it kind of isn’t. Is it?

a common characteristic of these types of identity politics enthusiasts is their extreme projection. like they'll accuse black people who are critical of Obama of being "internalized white supremacists" and "token blacks" while ignoring that those phrases probably more accurately describe Obama himself. it's probably meant to preempt radicals pointing this out. as a rhetorical tactic it works quite well, unfortunately.
#357
in many circles Marxism is derided for allegedly being "white" and "male" and is even equated with capitalism as "just another" form of Western imperialism. and this type of shitty thought is almost certainly leaking out into real world activism.
#358
i dunno if that's deliberate, it's difficult for leftists to not be shitty and superior at everything all the time

I guess the proper response is to call these people internalized fascists and token social progressives or somethin
