hello friends. this summer i extended my sparse posting into a long term absence, without even noticing. but now it is autumn, i've been dragged kicking and screaming back into a dysfunctional local org i was eager to wash my hands of, i'm drinking again, and worst of all i am here posting on the rhizzone.

post here if you wanna discuss your strategies to rage against the dying of the light, or don't, whatever.

today i made a cream of pumpkin/butternut squash/apple soup with a beer stock base and it was amazing. despite the above described metrics of Unhealthy States i am deeply and truly enjoying this autumn season and feel reinvigorated to once again beat my head against the brick wall of stupid narcissistic divisive bullshit.

thanks to the internet, "seasonal" affective disorder is no longer limited to winter

today was a beautiful day, my ears are just numb enough from the walk home that they're pleasantly warm and tingly now that i've arrived and reheated some soup

today had the best weather of the year. Cool enough to wear a jacket, clouds kept the sunlight in check, light breeze, slight drizzle now and again, what could be better?
#21
if by the year you mean the year starting on October 1 then yes I agree

i honestly cannot wait to do some late night work and then sleep through every single hour of daylight later this winter

fresh fallen snow and city light pollution reflecting off of a low cloud cover at 3 am is one of the most beautiful things in this world, everything looks lit from within by this soft ethereal glow. i pity anyone who doesn't get to experience it

were it not for capitalism i may not have had the experience of gazing for hours at municipal light reflecting off snow into the wee hours of winter morning simply so i could afford to return to a shared apartment which required heating equipment beyond what was installed when the structure was built.

try moving to LA, shriekingviolet. youll never witness a season again. hth
#28
oh god i would wither away without my precious cold and darkness. i have been sinfully appropriating the experience of SAD sufferers and contorting it into an expression of my own enjoyment of the cooler seasons. for yuks.
