LF was good because there was enough interesting, smart people who'd post effort posts or news that truly resulted in people changing their minds or learning from a leftist perspective, and the rest of the forums would add a slow drip of dumbasses to make fun of as it got gradually further and further left. Then someone asked about the range of a RPG and screwed it up for everyone....as if you can't find that out on wikipedia
