im probably landing in ft lauderdale, my friend has a place in naples but until she arrives i'm gonna probably just ride greyhounds aimlessly across the state

drink a lot in fort lauderdale, thats mostly all there is to do there

the beaches on the west coast, around naples, fort meyers, up to tampa are much nicer than those in the south east. plus sunsets beat sunrises any day

anything north of orlando is just south georgia. also dont go to orlando

typically in FL summers there are a couple of hours of downpours and huge lightning storms every day. one of the best things about the state imo. immediately surrounding those downpours it will be very sunny and humid.

culturally FL is wildly different depending on where you are. fort lauderdale area will be fertile grounds for kritique of a certain kind: lots of boring rich whites around, especially in boca raton. miami is more interesting, of course. naples is super boring afaik, never spent any time there.

yeah according to my friend naples is a cultural wasteland. her rich grandparents live there. we're also going through alabama and louisiana en route to some nerd space thing in h-town tx if anyone has some Cool Recs
