the study is from the heritage foundation, which undoubtedly massaged the numbers, but that still indicates that almost 50% of troops are from households with incomes above the median, and virtually none are from actually impoverished backgrounds. by the way, just for the record: qq, i come from a lower middle class family in the first world, surely this is an acceptable excuse for murder for hire

Americans dont need an economic reason to murder for hire. Saying they do is just making a judgement against a "lesser" or differently developed culture. american culture is a place where murder is accepted and normalized. Americans simply don't value the lives of humans. We can disagree with it, we can wish for it to change, but how does that differentiate us from the colonial missionaries converting the native peoples of the americas and africa to worshiping blue eyed white baby jesus? Condemning americans for glorifying murder and bloodshed is its own form of cultural imperialism like hating muslims for not being down with McRib or one of those no-contact island tribes for running around naked. They just don't know how to live any other way.
