roseweird you should go to those diy biology hacker labs that are popping up everywhere i'm sure there are like 5 in NYC and i'm sure they're going to release ebola or something.

actually just find a grad school with a prof that does what you want (do lots of research on this) so you can do what you want under their tutelage.
