good, it's great to see that America is hogging less of the global share of wealth.

i don't think any good revolutionary could take the gradual impoverishment of the united states as anything but good news unless you have some weird chauvanist, white-supremacist attraction to your 'local community'

this century is going to be interesting because labor has become more and more superfluous, more than at any point in history with increases in productivity. so here we stand on the precipice of a brave new world where Capital will try to, once and for all, completely exterminate large swaths of labor and begin replacing them with japanese robots that have prehensile genitalia. Alex Jones was right, there's poison in the water supply.

i saw a gallup poll which showed only 12% of the population feels they are poor while half the country still think they're middle class, lol

#10
ironically 11 of that 12% are upper middle class liberal arts students who never miss an opportunity to mention that their grandfather was a polish boilermaker

this is exactly why i became a Libertarian. the destruction of the United States as an economic power coupled with strong isolationism is literally the greatest gift you can give to the world

That's the conclusion of Julie Carpenter, a Ph.D. in education at the University of Washington. Carpenter interviewed 23 explosive ordnance disposal personnel who regularly used robots on the job. She found that the soldiers often anthropomorphized their robots, assigned them human attributes such as genders and names, and even displayed a kind of empathy toward the machines.

is marriage a bad idea

It's the only way to have sexual intercourse without suffering an eternity in hell. Small price to pay, really.

Marriage is good because it's a way to formalize your commitment to another person. Obviously, two unmarried people can live together forever and enjoy basically the same things as a married couple: a partner, a lover, someone they can rely on and trust absolutely, a person that will love them unconditionally and be there for them whether times are good or bad, a smiling face to see at home daily, a confidante, a co-conspirator, the comfort of having someone know you better than anyone else ever could. The good thing about marriage as a rite is that it requires a demonstration of that love, and that faith, not in God, but in your partner. That your partner will undertake those solemn vows and pledge their life to yours is beautiful. A loving relationship is a path to a fulfilling life.

marriage is important because it provides a formal, binding contract, without which, a meaningful relationship built on trust + love simply could not be sustained
