My son has been having a great time playing Zelda games and he adamantly wanted a "Little boy Zelda cake" (For some reason he always calls Link little boy Zelda). So I asked exactly what he wanted and made plans a few weeks in advance so that it would be perfect. He said he wanted a sword, a shield, a treasure chest, bombs, and "monies!" So I had my work cut out for me. The base of the Legend of Zelda Birthday Cake is milk chocolate and covered in buttercream frosting.

Charlotte was obsessed with the cake books, pouring over them for hours and hours and she wanted a swimming pool cake. All well and good but the cake would have fed 8-10 people and we were having over 50! What to do?

Serious negotiations began – bribery in the form of anything fairy for at least 2 months and finally with 3 weeks to go she said I could go ahead and make her a fairy cake!
