where "intent doesn't matter"

wait, i've been really confused about this, why is the assertion that "intent doesn't matter" under question at all? of course it doesn't matter, it's insane to suggest it does, that's the height of bourgeois idealism! if your ideas or intentions do not manifest themselves behaviorally, if your ideology does not carry consequence in the complex of material relations, then it's irrelevant - are we meant to assume that someone is an ally of the people because of their innate species-being? that's vile, how can anyone take that seriously, that's the absurd essentialism of bourgeois worms. in 'the ideology of modernism', lukacs identifies the way the petit-bourgeois authors confuse their material reality with the various subjective potential realities of their minds - and fall into insufferable malaise when it dawns that our material complexes fail to manifest these potentialities. i think that's completely accurate, that's the decrepit ideology of childish idealist, and that's articulated whenever the importance of intent becomes primary.

of course i don't agree with the juvenile identity politics screaming that every revolutionary fall under its criteria, but i don't understand at all why you would not attack this because of the extreme vulgarity, but instead because they don't pay heed to delusional intent. if your attitudes do not manifest themselves in a form materially qualifiable then they are of no consequence and at a very basic level do not matter in any way, why is this even called into question, maybe i am just understanding this entire line of thought in completely the wrong way, idk, idk

in the book "contact", after talking with god, the main character dedicates herself at one point to crunching data to generate digits for pi in like base-12 or something and finds code that translates into like information about the universe and shit. and like she finds out that god put secrets deep into pi, so that like as mankind's data system evolves it will be able to find out more and more cool stuff that god laid down for us when we level up.

it's so that every civilization that evolves will have access to the secrets of the universe once they learn how to build computers, which are godlike. why doesn't god just show up and tell people things all the time, you ask? maybe he does

for example: the prophet muhammed, pbuh

one of my favorite stories from carl sagan was how in the early 90s he'd get a lot of letters from people who claimed to be in contact with aliens. he found that the aliens were very talkative when asked things like "should we be good to each other" "are nuclear weapons bad" and "how should we treat the environment" but the aliens were silent when asked questions about unsolved questions in math and physics that an intergalactic civilization would have likely resolved. also the aliens had a very poor grasp of astronomy. i always think back to that when i read about god giving mohammed instructions on social behavior and animal husbandry but nothing about, say, immunology, the airfoil, the existence of the western hemisphere, and so on

Our principal tells us via intercom system some basic announcements. Proceeds with a few innocent reminders about school policy on dress code. Then – “And ladies, please make sure you’re not showing too much cleavage. We don’t want our male students getting distracted!” Excuse me?

the principal made a boob joke

I’m participating in a self-defense class this semester. The day before class started, the instructor sends out an email with information on the class. A paragraph explained that the class was not a martial arts class, so it was not recommended for men. Are men born with inherently better self-defense skills? I didn’t think so. Guys get mugged too. And what about the fact that 10% of rape victims are men?

why cant men take the womens self defense class

I convinced my boyfriend of a year to go to a school basketball game with me (he detests sports, but a friend of ours was playing). I bought our tickets from our vice principal at the door, handing her a twenty and asking, “two students, please!”

She said, “I hope you aren’t buying his ticket.”

Shocked, I tried to laugh, “I did make him come with me!”

She replied, “Well I guess that’s okay, honey. I was gonna tell you to dump him if he made you pay.”

We went to our seats, he was uncomfortably silent and I was cussing her out profusely. I felt angry, devalued, defensive, and pissed by what society forces on him.

well if being unable to provide anything above farting out platitudes about morality is not a disqualifier for believing that someone was receiving direct transmissions from a higher intelligence then i recommend that you also follow all of the following faiths: bahai, mormonism, scientology, tenrikyo, seventh-day adventist, jehovahs witness, promise keepers, the church of david koresh, raelism,

actually mormonism got owned by archaeologists, smith should've realized there was a reason religious texts don't include scientifically falsifiable proclamations
