i mean, the rate of hospitalization & deaths for vaccinated vs unvaccinated is pretty stark which makes saying "the vaccines don't work" pretty loony even if you accept the premise that breakthrough transmission for vaccinated people is relatively high. i think what you're seeing is just how much more contagious delta is compared to the OG covid last year, especially for the half of the country that won't get the stupid fucking vaccine.

pharma is in the game to make money, and they've been wildly successful so far with this pandemic, but at the end of the day the capitalist system is strongly interested in trying to end this emergency and go back to an efficient M-C-M loop with solid supply chains extracting wealth from their global markets asap

I hate the vaccine passport and think it's bad. There's tons more police out in Paris patrolling, I saw them with my own eyes.

In September getting tested will no longer be free for French citizens which just means nobody's going to get tested any more - mass testing is the only actual way to halt transmission.

The vaccine does appear to work though, I read a bunch about it, I don't know how anybody can think it doesn't work if they've looked at the numbers. I read a bunch of VAERS reports and stuff and didn't really find it credible, it was full of stuff like this:


So I got a vaccine the other day. Aside from not being able to see out of my left eye and my feet turning into cloven hooves I feel fine. I probably wouldn't have got it if it wasn't mandated though.

imo it is bad when vaccine discussion on the irony maoist forum turns into namecalling because the liberal line on vaccines is obviously genocidal and letting that run is bad. there's really not a left wing space for critical vaccine discussion to happen that isn't completely off the wall. let a hundred flowers bloom unless they're trotskyist and all that

i don't take issue with the overall efficacy of the vaccines because they were rolled out so poorly it was laughable. i do believe in the vaccinated vs unvaccinated numbers, so yeh, you should get vaccine if you care about amerikkka, but liceo was talking cure/treatment, which is definitely not on the table as far as i've read and would probably be too soon to say anyways.

Casting vaccination as some sort of nebulous form of behavioral discipline while lying about its efficacy is also objectively anti-socialist, while making the insinuations you're making about the health risks of getting vaccinated vs. not getting vaccinated is dumb, immoral, tremendously irresponsible and also anti-socialist. fwiw to run across this stuff here is not entirely surprising to me but having it come from you, in the middle of what was otherwise a worthwhile discussion, is surprising, disappointing and intensely aggravating. please understand at least that i am identifying actions and statements as dumb, irresponsible, etc., not people, and whether or not you consider that a rhetorical ploy, there is a significant difference between the two for me.
