i think your first interpretation is right; this person is stating that landing on the moon was easier than faking it and trying to get away with it. likewise running theranos as a ghoul-funded spooky bio lab was easier than faking the entire theranos enterprise and getting away with it.

whatever merit you find in this particular post, this person is a pretty interesting researcher. their twitter account is temporarily unlocked if you were interested in following. (i do not condone using twitter)

i read the theranos post and its cool and i like it, here in the kkkonspiracy thread, where we "just ask questions" in the popular format "just asking questions"

also gssh is right about the interpretation of the moon bit imo, though the author could have been somewhat clearer

I guess I can see it being read that way but using "here's a case where the conspiracy isn't real and the official story is true" as your example analogy to support an alleged conspiracy where the official story is false is... not a particularly wise choice

looking back at these posts and wondering, with due respect to Posting veteran aerdil, who is supposed to be reading Time Magazine dot com in A.D. 2021 with only eighth grade under their belt. The leftover official-baby-brain of the “content” speaks today to what’s expected by and from its leftover, greatly diminished and almost certainly mostly college-educated Democrat-leaning readership, because a four-year degree in the U.S. nowadays functions primarily as a means to sustain the debt market and so there are A Lot.

As someone who does not believe that incriminating direct & plain-speech coordination is even necessary for a conspiracy, since a lot of actually prosecuted criminal conspiracies don't have that at all, I would still love to have been a fly on the wall for the most blatant and plain-spoken exchange of words between the FBI/CIA/etc. and intermediaries for the Biden campaign. I would like to overhear the Big Talk(s) about how the U.S. intelligence & security apparatus would continue to sandbag Biden's opponent in his favor through to 2020 in exchange for extreme & immediate White House belligerence toward every single one of their current targets. That would be interesting, to me.

The Democrats and the alphabet agencies alike shared the imperialist politics being acted out right now well before the 2020 election season began. Let me repeat that two more times to head off an entire wasted page. The Democrats and the alphabet agencies alike shared the imperialist politics being acted out right now well before the 2020 election season began. The Democrats and the alphabet agencies alike shared the imperialist politics being acted out right now well before the 2020 election season began. Cool cool good stuff everyone agrees.

But the two groups, the alphabet boys and the Biden White House, are really licking each others' genitals in earnest to a degree that's new and surprising. (And I stress as always how important it is not to adopt the deeply-online liar's attitude that nothing is new or surprising to anyone simply because what happened doesn't completely overturn what they already knew.) Like, nothing about the Democrat-imperialist political stance requires the sort of crank-level provocation of China we saw from the White House at the Anchorage meeting, which has in turn allowed center-oid publications such as the Atlantic Monthly to go full 9/11 mode, with headlines about how the frothing U.S. position showed this was when

...while for their part, we have the intelligence agencies release a report that the Democrats weren't really running against the other bourgeois party in the election, but against the insidious, nation-wide might of Russia, China, Iran(?), Venezuela(??), Hezbollah in Lebanon ( l m a o ), the Japanese Red Army and the Girl Guides of Canada. Again, this is not outside of their politics, but it IS crazier than they usually try to sound in the press, really just a wild swing of the bat that only works if the pitcher is paid off. It reflects the newly, highly public role the security/intelligence agencies have adopted for influencing U.S. elections, with the blessing of the Democrats. They are just going to shout a bunch of stuff out loud now that earlier, during e.g. the Clinton, Bush or Obama administrations, they would have kept quieter, feeding things bit by bit through their favored mouthpieces and sending up trial balloons to see what they should and shouldn't announce to the "voting public". We already see a lot less of what passed for tentativeness in their world.

My shot in the dark here is that Trump calling the CIA liars in front of reporters before he was even in office led to a bunch of people in hallways at the Democrats and the agencies alike getting to try out their gruff, I'm-my-daddy voices about how things are back to the way they were in the Cold War, everything's fucked everybody sucks, so now we have to play "smash mouth football" or whatever. Anyway things are going to be, at the very least, no less bloody and deadly and stupid than they would have been otherwise, but I mean we will get some comedy out of it at least, because none of these clowns feel they have to keep their voices down anymore.

Lebanese Hezbollah fixed the election for United $naKKKe$ President... on December 31st that will still be in the running for Funniest Post of the Year.

appreciate the posts - tho i'm not sure how much actual evidence that the US is the worlds largest sponsor of terrorism belongs in the conspiracy thread vs deserving it's own thread or fitting in with one of the other imperialist aggression threads.

irt to car's posting on china. my feeling had been that the trump admin's anti-chinese imperialist aggression was the one high point of concordance between the alphabet boys and trump in comparison to trump's otherwise fairly open disdain for them and their agenda (and their various pushes against him). with trump leading the charge with his typical flashy but empty moves (remember tiktok getting banned lol) there is now plenty of space for the spies and dems to collaborate on a "reasonable approach to china" - which will of course mean just has harsh, if not harsher imperialist action, but sold as mature, logical, and necessary moves.

my general feeling on china (and the general rise in anti-asian hate in the US/west) is that this is something that is being cooked up by the entire breadth of western boug. the ultimate failure of neoliberalism to recapture the glory of the post-war boom that at best just prolonged the amerikkkan empire (through expansion of neocolonies, shrinking of the middle class, and expansion of debt) has become ever more clear in the past ~15 years. the western boug are faced with a now unprecedented situation where not only is the center of capitalist power looking like it is going to shift - always a situation for potential chaos and conflict - but for once it is looking like it is going to shift out of western, white hands. i think there is pretty wide unity in opinion across the western/white boug that this is unacceptable. while at the same time i don't think that they have any real idea of how to change the trends that are pushing this result. so without an economic policy or non-violent political solution at hand they are spreading racist hate, building the case of "the CCP is an evil government" and in general setting the stage for widespread and intense violence. i'm pretty terrified at how far they would be willing to push this - despite the references back to the cold war, modern china is not the USSR of that era, and i don't particularly think that they would restrain themselves to the (already horrific) levels of violence employed during the cold war if it looks like they are going to lose the #1 seat

yeah it seems a little optimistic to think there's 100% no possibility of renewed inter-imperialist conflict because of amerika's current economic reliance on china when the major plank of the most recent republican administration was delinking, however implausible and vague in the present, and the amerikan bourgeoisie however senile is still thinking in terms of decades. how much more "evidence" is needed to see that the logic of the world system at times dictates desperate gambles using the lives of millions and that the configuration of things is subject to this, not the other way around

I don’t think their agendas differed much at all. Certainly not on “foreign policy”. Conflict mostly reflected their turf wars with each other over Washington and a few public relations maneuvers abroad by the White House that mostly went nowhere, surprising mostly no one. Their nastiest fights were over shit like the Trump administration trying to void security clearances for retirees, things that in the context of the fight itself were essentially just trading nuisance lawsuits, and, with noisy non-events such as the clearance fight, the equivalent of swearing loudly at a small-town church service, the Trump administration doing absurd, showy things that “just aren’t done” but weren’t going to undermine much of anything because there was nowhere for them to stick. Nothing the White House ended up pursuing would make a dent in the “deep state” edifice, whatever you want to call it, and none of the security agencies were going to do much to rob the White House itself of power, correctly assuming it would be back in the hands of their bosom chums on a mayfly timescale compared to the agencies’ more durable operations.

I think it may be tempting to underestimate certain solid foundations of intra-bourgeois politics as real material conditions because no one has to assign dollar values to them to contest the resources, at least not to anything more than a few discrete tranches of them here and there in pitch-books & Pivot tables. Like: a lot of the “deep state” vs. the Trump White House boiled down to how the FBI/CIA had thrown out a low & slow pitch over the plate at the end of 2016, “Russian interference”, to get the new administration to play ball (look at how Bernard Sanders would genuflect immediately at the same accusations to see exactly what they wanted and expected from an incoming administration). Instead Trump went on TV and called the CIA liars like they were rival dim bulb Manhattan real-estate greaseballs, an “event” mostly important to the people he “attacked” simply because no president had ever done anything remotely like that since the agency’s founding. The “deep state” responded, because who are they if they don’t respond to that?

Gangs have turf to defend. If anyone doubts those are “material conditions” picture the entire history of the treasure trove of the contemporary urban street gang, that is, a city police department’s collective evidence locker. Then imagine the equivalent for any one of those agencies, in most cases combined from sites all over the world, all the stories it would tell if lumped together and sorted out honestly (which it never will or need be), all leading back to a bunch of boring parties and ugly conference rooms and ugly people in Washington, D.C.

those ships only have like 20 guys on them, 1/3 are probably asleep at any time to prepare for shifts, and they're operating on shoestring budgets so hanging a bunch of surveillance cameras probably isn't happening. although when going through a canal or entering port there would be a local professional pilot who comes on to navigate, sabotaging the steering system would probably require not much more than loosening a fitting on a hydraulic line and waiting for it to blow, or hitting a control board with an electrical current to look like a random short. ships don't stop very quickly, in a confined waterway like a canal, if the rudder suddenly flops over to the left then this type of thing probably happens pretty reliably.

The official story is that wind blew it sideways. I was more suggesting that it would be that easy for a maritime worker to throw a 400 meter long wrench into the gears of international commerce. Or any nation with covert operatives and a reason to shut down traffic through the Suez canal. Some of the northern part of the Suez canal has two lanes and conveniently this happened in the southern part where one single ship of that size could jam the flow of international trade to Europe and eastern US for weeks.

This is how atlantic based aircraft carriers get to and from the Persian Gulf to do imperialisms and now the whole world sees how easily and cheaply they can be owned. If there was a navy ship stuck behind that jam they could probably be meaningfully attacked with antitank missiles. Not something they routinely practice against I would suspect. Then there would be 2 ships blocking the canal and one would be on fire and full of bombs.

If the empire has to shift their boats to going the long way around it looks like that adds about 50% travel time direct from the US, double from the UK, triples it from the navy base in Naples, and instead of stopping for food and fuel and rest in developed Mediterranean ports in fancy white tourist cities they have to try to source logistics for a whole battle fleet out of southern Africa where I'm sure huge bunkers of jet fuel are sitting around every deep harbor where such visitors are welcome, or carry everything with them. The US can do that but it would be expensive, I don't think any other euro navies could.

Whether wind or spooks it certainly seems like a convenient gift to Iranian security. It does hurt their ability to supply Syria, but isn't too bad for Venezuela.

this canal has been around for ~150 years and has been of extreme strategic importance to at least 4 conflicts, two in which the Suez was the lifeline for a teetering global empire, and it wasn’t til 2021 in the era of stupid that someone thought “hey what if we jammed the thing with a big boat”.
