O Ministério do Meio Ambiente informa que em razão do bloqueio financeiro efetivado pela SOF - Secretaria de Orçamento Federal na data de hoje, da ordem de R$ 20.972.195,00 em verbas do IBAMA e R$ 39.787.964,00 em verbas do ICMBio, serão interrompidas a partir da zero hora de 2.feira (31/agosto) todas as operações de combate ao desmatamento ilegal na Amazônia Legal, bem como todas as operações de combate às queimadas no Pantanal e demais regiões do País.
Segundo informado ao MMA pelo Secretário Esteves Colnago do Ministério da Economia, o bloqueio atual de cerca de R$ 60 milhões de reais para IBAMA e ICMBIO foi decidido pela Secretaria de Governo/SEGOV e pela Casa Civil da Presidência da República e vem a se somar à redução de outros R$ 120 milhões já previstos como corte do orçamento na área de meio ambiente para o exercício de 2021.
As operações que serão afetadas já na 2.feira (31/08) compreendem, no âmbito do combate às queimadas no IBAMA, a desmobilização de 1.346 brigadistas, 86 caminhonetes, 10 caminhões e 4 helicópteros.
Nas atividades do IBAMA relativas ao combate ao desmatamento ilegal serão desmobilizados 77 fiscais, 48 viaturas e 2 helicópteros.
No âmbito do ICMBIO, nas operações de combate ao desmatamento ilegal serão desmobilizados 324 fiscais, além de 459 brigadistas e 10 aeronaves Air Tractor que atuam no combate às queimadas.
