i think the appeal of this sort of thing is just about inherent and universal--everyone is tired of the terrific gunfire and screaming, everyone is tired of the bodily mayhem. perhaps there is a little oat of naive socialism that exists in the deepest and sweetest recesses of our sentimental hearts. hehe... sigh... wouldnt that be nice if it were true, and maybe it is. and even if its not, if we lay our political plans down right, we can arrive at the rationally planned socialist society within a matter of years. death is always closer than we think, so we are always nearer to heaven than we might imagine, and socialism sounds like it will be a relaxing, tranquil heaven on earth indeed. imagine waking up in the morning nestled between your clean pink sheets and calling the worksite desk on your pink plastic telephone to tell them that youll be sleeping in. it would be okay that you did this, the collective would have already rationally planned for it.
maybe you would never have to be trapped with your abuser--hop on board the luminous socialism train to your new safe unknown life in anytown, oneworld. your board and keep are already paid in full, my friend. sorry, does it sound tawdry when i say "abuser"? maybe i sound a bit tumblr when i say abuser. personally, i hate abuse, and ive always been super pissed when i got abused. will abusers be a thing of the past in the calm, relaxing socialist future of tomorrow? hmm, they will probably still be around, but their capacity to achieve material mastery over the lives of their prospective victims will be significantly diminished. that would be awesome. i would love that. that would be freaking great. that would be very relaxing.
so this thing basically sells itself--oops, i shouldnt say sell, i am trying to unlearn bad old habits. this thing basically uh... advances... promotes... recommends... proves itself. so the only darn question, and this is a sticky one, is this: how in the wild world of sports are we gonna freaking get there! i propose that we, create a party call the socialist party, and win the united states presidential election.
another proposal i have is that we dig our heels in, win an entrenched, protracted military conflict against our implacable foe, and relax on trains afterwards.
does anyone have any better ideas? feel free to "sound off" and please reply to this thread with your ideas or critiques, after all socialism cannot come about alone, we all need each other so desperately, so desperately...
as for your other questions i don't know op.
e: i would like to hedge that query slightl, lots of things also suck for what is realistically the majority of sociopaths :/

i think there needs to be some bugs and worms around the built environment, to maintain the health of plants and the soil. and hey, those bugs and worms just want to live their lives like the rest of us.

I firmly maintain the belief that PV solar sucks the mediocre one and the Way and the Light is revealed to us through the glory of Concentrated Solar Thermal energy, but this requires a bit more engineering and moving parts and fluid and weird stuff. Planning on trying to build a small system once i get a farm to try it out though.
solar photovoltaic panels slowly degrade over time, they have a life expectancy of about 20-30 years so basically every one ever built is about to get thrown into the garbage and replaced with a new one that is more expensive and will also be thrown into the garbage. CST at least is mostly all recyclable.
Imo, PV is way better and more useful than CST. Eventually we'll figure out a way to recycle PV panels as well, but CST needs giant structures which, I guess yeah the individual components can be recycled but you still have to tear down a big-ass tower.
Solar panels are way easier, you pretty much just need a good spot for them, buy them, and hook them up.
