pros:
- invented in the USSR for cosmonauts to take
- is strictly prescription-only in modern Russia, a country where you can buy benzos off the drugstore shelf, so it must be good
- available in the capitalist West no questions asked from the same sort of people who sell you l-theanine supplements and horny goat weed

cons:
- withdrawal is a bitch apparently
- still not entirely sure it actually does much of anything
- may have made me experience the zizek-peterson debate as somewhat entertaining and valuable

some additional points between pro/con:

- it takes hours to kick in, so desire/ability to redose is somewhat selflimiting.
- not much in the spectrum between feeling slightly relaxed and being dizzy/sick/asleep.
- potentiates other depressants, much easier to dytd.

don't know why this has caught on so much recently, everyone would be much better off taking ghb.
