One of the waves, 30 missiles were inbound, 28 destroyed and only 2 reached their intended targets, then the US secretary of Defense comes and say their attack was a success?!
A complete Anti Access/Areal Denial area was enforced by Syrian Air Defenses and SyAAF, and against who, the United States, UK and France; good luck facing Russia, if we were you we wouldn't threaten the Russians so much.
Just the team member of the page who are in SyAAD cost the US tax payers over 500 million in destroyed Tomahawk missiles; and for that, well, most expensive target practice ever, at least we weren't the ones paying tho.
Hey good move Donald J. Trump, how big are your hands now?! You embarrassed the US Military like no one else.
On a more serious note, a full comprehensive report will be up when possible.

The US, UK, & France launched 103 missiles on Syria. 71 missiles were shot down including all UK missiles.

I think the quote that JohnBeige posted implies that they shot down 28/30 missiles in one wave. It seems there were other waves that let more missiles through, they just chose the most successful one to brag about. Still, if that's true then that's over 2/3 of the missiles shot down.

I disagree. This is a catastrophe for the FUKUS imperial forces. In part magnified by deliberate and intentional incompetence on the part of the Aggressor nations militaries. Someone somewhere designed this Aggression to fail. Not even the amerkkkan military is incompetent enough to send 100 subsonic cruise missiles from non-stealth platforms into a forewarned multilayered air defense network without a single anti-radiation missile or jamming. Take nothing away from the SyAADF's heroics, this was very obviously the actions of a military scared shitless of the consequences but unwilling to disobey orders.
Russian (and presumably others) military intelligence got to collect massive critical electronic warfare and radar information on FUKUS weapons and planes using the most advanced Russian systems which have never been present in the crosshairs of an imperial attack yet. Iran's reverse engineers probably have a pile of new parts to play with. FUKUS forces got to watch Vietnam War era missiles go ham on their entire non-nuclear offensive capacity, while Russia coordinated the defense from their command and control post without wasting or showing the real capabilities of their most advanced weapons. Iran, Russia, and possibly even China and DPRK have a wealth of new information to incorporate into their defenses against imperial Aggression.
24 hours ago, OPCW only needed to find a single trace of CW, which could have easily been planted in Ghouta for the false flag's lies to hold. Now, Syria can march the OPCW right into the wreckage of their "chemical weapons production and storage facilities" to verify to the entire world that nothing existed in any site. This is a horrific blunder by the imperials. They handed Syria and Russia an ironclad defense against CW accusations and strong support for the false flag theory.
And this was all just minutes before Russia revealed that the neutral lab in Switzerland which OPCW gave Skripal evidence to just confirmed the chemical was a US/UK nerve agent, BZ, instead of Novichok.
Russia, Syria, Bolivia, and anyone supporting or leaning their way at the UN or elsewhere have all very clearly used the exact same language in describing this event: Aggression. The entirety of UK statements in public and at UNSC are basically just begging anyone on the planet to believe this was legal.
This isn't over.
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/14/us/politics/syria-chemical-weapons-analysis.html posted:A Hard Lesson in Syria: Assad Can Still Gas His Own People
...
After Saturday’s predawn strike in Syria on three suspected chemical weapons sites, government officials and outside experts agreed that the attack, while double the size of last year’s, was unlikely to eliminate Mr. Assad’s ability to gas his own people yet again.
The sites struck on Saturday were described by Lt. Gen. Kenneth F. McKenzie, who leads the Joint Staff at the Pentagon, as “fundamental components of the regime’s chemical weapons warfare infrastructure.” They may have been in the past, but it is unclear they were still in active use when American, French and British forces leveled them.
So far, officials say, two factors make them wonder whether the facilities were still central to Syria’s program. At this point, there are no known casualties at the sites, which suggests that either no one was there during the evening, or they had been previously abandoned. And there are no reports of chemical agent leakage from the sites, despite attacks by more than 100 sea- and air-launched missiles.
Whether those particular sites were still in use or not, the conflict in Syria has demonstrated a larger truth: While it is easy to blow up Mr. Assad’s chemical facilities, it is also relatively simple for him to reconstitute them elsewhere, or just turn to a commercially available substance like chlorine to make a crude poison that any nation is allowed to possess.
...
Sophisticated facilities are not needed to produce chlorine, the agent that Syrian forces are suspected to have used a week ago to kill dozens of civilians, including children. It is commercially available, used for water systems. And the nerve agent sarin, which the White House has said may also have been used a week ago, can be produced just about anywhere, as a French intelligence report released on Saturday noted.
The report concludes that “the Syrian military retains expertise from its traditional chemical weapons agent program to both use sarin and produce and deploy chlorine munitions.” The United States, it noted, “also assesses the regime still has chemicals — specifically sarin and chlorine — that it can use in future attacks.”
I wonder what US domestic propaganda law they get around by having to quote a French report to say what the US 'assessment' is lol

colddays posted:As scary as it all was, now that it's morning it's clear the empire has entirely lost in Syria. They thought they would scare Russia with insane brinkmanship, a diplomatic crisis, sanctions, whatever. All their tools failed, and Russia asserted its place in a newly multipolar world by telling the US, UK, and France that their ships and planes will be destroyed if they attack Russian assets. So they backed down and launched another impotent missile barrage instead of whatever spectacle they had planned before. Ever since the liberation of Aleppo and maybe even earlier, the American empire has had only two options left. Admit defeat, or enter a war in which they know they'll either be defeated conventionally or as a casualty of worldwide nuclear apocalypse. Last night they chose to admit defeat even if they claim it was "mission accomplished". Nothing more than empty words.
obama sucks obviously, and funded rebels with billions for years, but it was his hesitancy to launch direct attacks on the SAA that let the moment slip. if hillary or trump had been in his place at the time of that "red line" bullshit, the bombing absolutely would have commenced. obama instead was more measured, ended up seeking congressional approval and failing, and made that deal with russia to destroy the weapons.
and then in the near aftermath russia gets much more involved in syria such that attempting to overthrow the syrian government would be a lot more complex with more repercussions at this point, and trump doesnt have the same opening that obama let pass by. lol nice
vox was crying about obama's red line just the other day

No guard stations on approaching roads. No wall. No signs of even a fence on satellite or on the ground photos. Unreinforced masonry construction with a ton of windows at ground level. Building backed to a hill to the north and west, with dense residential districts on all other sides within 1000 feet, downhill.
Clearly Bashar Al Assad cares so little about the lives of the people that he left all his chemical weapons sitting in a completely unsecured non-military building just 3 miles away from the jihadi front lines, where any child could stumble upon them and die horribly, while they were going to science school, in that building. Where any release of a heavier than air gas would propagate downhill, exterminating half the town of uhh...checking notes here...Damascus.

Moreover, now that eastern Ghouta has finally been cleared of terrorists, it turns out that Nato troops, including British troops, had surreptitiously been stationed in the area in preparation for an assault on Damascus. This assault was, in the event, frustrated when the Syrian government succeeded in liberating the area within only a few weeks from starting its offensive.
“According to a report by Al-Mayadeen news channel cited by Fars news, a number of British troops have been captured during the Syrian Arab Army’s operations in eastern Ghouta.
“They are believed to be a part of international military forces deployed in the region to launch a ground assault in Damascus in cooperation with the US. According to the report, the US and other Nato countries, Jordan and Israel planned to launch attacks from several fronts, but the plot failed as Syrian armed forces made a series of rapid advances in eastern Ghouta in March.
“The plot allegedly involved massive airstrikes by US and Israeli planes that were supposed to pave the way for ground forces …
“Since the plot failed due to rapid advances by the Syrian army, the US cancelled all operations planned for these foreign forces and ordered an immediate withdrawal from eastern Ghouta through the eastern suburbs of Damascus, including Douma.
“The US and Turkey sought to rescue foreign ‘militants and agents operating for Israel, Jordan and Nato’, now trapped in Ghouta, and move them to Idlib, the source says.
“The Turkish initiative to help with the evacuation of al-Nusra Front terrorists from Ghouta has reportedly been a cover-up for ‘special foreign forces that were among the ranks of the Al-Qaeda-affiliated’ Nusra Front terror organisation.
“‘Therefore, the US has ordered Jaysh al-Islam, Faylaq al-Rahman and other terrorist groups to allow the evacuation of civilians from eastern Ghouta to army-held regions in a bid to provide the ground for these foreign agents to also leave Ghouta in disguise, and enable the Turkish intelligence service to send them to specified regions in At-Tanf and northern Syria which are under the control of US troops,’ the source said.” (Syrian army captures British militants in eastern Ghouta – reports, Sputnik, 12 April 2018)
It would seem, however, that somebody forgot to tell the British troops, who remained in eastern Ghouta to be captured and thus give the whole game away.
