Unpopular with idiots, popular with anyone with a once of insight into MLK and the FBI's relationship.

Off the top of my head, I'd say the FBI-King suicide letters implicate the FBI in wanting King dead. King's increasing criticism of the Vietnam war coupled with Hoover's increased dementia probably helped foster the hit.

I started this and am about 40% through and it's pretty good (even though the author seems to be anticommunist)

maybe thats why hinckley was found not guilty by reason of insanity. he did a favor for ol' hw and georgie boy made sure he was taken care of instead of executed

What's the hardest way to kill yourself? Three bullets to the head certainly ranks. According to Moscow police sources, that was the actual cause of death for coup conspirator BORIS PUGO, the Soviet Interior Minister who was officially described as having "committed suicide" when the August putsch fizzled. As for two other top Communist officials reported to have killed themselves by leaping from windows, sources say they probably were pushed in order to silence them. They apparently knew too much about the smuggling of Communist wealth out of the country as the party collapsed.

i thought the jonestown conspiracy theory wasnt that jones was cia but that he was a socialist and the cia silenced him or whatever. that might be a bit mundane and low level for this thread though

Hmm who was one of the few people who had access to trotskys archive before that?
"Isaac Deutscher had earlier worked in the closed archive but The Prophet Outcast, while referring to Trotsky correspondence at this time, makes no reference to these matters."
