killing all cops would be a positive institutional change

cops are bad because they exist to support existing structures of power, not because there is an inherent badness to being a cop. cutting off one head of the hydra isnt exactly a blueprint for revolution

no actually cops are terrible because terrible people are naturally attracted to the job of being a cop and they do not merely support existing structures but (as people who benefit from them) fight wholeheartedly for them and if it ever looked like the government were going to take away their right to murder indiscriminately they would throw a crybaby temper tantrum. imho

#10
well if nothing else, that's not exactly what i'd call a marxian argument
#11
cops & troops are worse than goldman sachs executives. both cause wanton damage and destruction and destroy communities but the former are the only people who can see their damage first hand on a day to day basis and still feel no remorse
#12
are cops in socialist societies also intrinsically bad people or might we say that in our society the internal police culture & broader culture as well probably foster acceptance of brutality

He in turn has called those who voted for him in the town of Nashua "a bunch of fat, stupid, ugly old ladies that watch soap operas, play bingo, read tabloids and don't know the metric system".

I've never heard of a Goldman Sach's executive rescuing a baby from a burning house or providing closure to the relatives of a murdered love one.

ivy-league educated multimillionaires whose job is to find new ways to squeeze profits within the confines of the system they create are more naive to their role in the world than a cop. lol

thanks for the insightful deep analysis goldsmith

oh man, man, MAN the WORsT thing about those cops is that while the gold man sacks dude gets paid BILLIONS to smash up the world the "pigs" will settle for like, what, 30k? 40k per year? Must LOVE their job man, you get this

i gots a theory that the reason most cops are horrible abusive chauvinists is because the majority of the police force is abusing tons of steroids. makes you think

"not all cops are bad people" is such a vague and broad statement that it has no meaning.
but sure, i guess he's "right" in the nominal sense, whatever. who cares. arguments presupposed on statements being "right or wrong" are irrelevant when no knowledge can be surmised, no further thoughts constructed nor any actions will result from such an idea being said. it is right but it is also Wrong for the very same reason - that it is the most cowardly and superficial analysis possible.

i need to return some video tapes.

Dr Oppenheimer felt regret for what he did. Goldman Sacks execs? they get trillions of dollars in taxpayer money and then whine and scream for more like giant yawning black holes, a swarm of locusts blackening the sky

I wouldn’t excuse Oppenheimer so quickly. Scientists are culpable for more evil in the world than any banker or cop could possibly fathom.

settle down beavis

okay Discipline we get it, you're mad you weren't invited to the last corporate retreat golf tournament. maybe if you come up with a money-saving idea like my plan to eliminate drone jockeys and cloudsource strikes to mid-level mgmt with incentive bonuses for killstreaks then you would have been able to hear Chet's latest anecdote about the cost of prostitutes in Panama??

I’ll never understand how leftists will abuse individual soldiers for their service (often forced by compromising social situations) and laud someone like Chomsky who literally created war machines for the Pentagon.
#31
do leftists really do that though? well, yes, obviously, but then i guess i'm not a leftist
#32
well "people in this forum and lf" then.
#33
many leftists of this type would be personally uncomfortable around soldiers and police but everything would be socially copacetic with finance executives, scientists, lawyers, etc.

yeah, all those millions and millions of american liberals who chastise the military and soldiers for killing innocent civilians in other countries rather than criticizing the military for fighting wars that are too (materially) costly

yeah, that is reality

When I was in Canada I met up with an old acquaintance who had moved to New York. He was always a douche but now he actually acts like Patrick Bateman, like he seriously was showing off his “vice-president” business card.

Must be a horrible cultural milieu in which to live.
