Univision, a multimedia company with a mostly Latino/Hispanic target audience, owns two liberal opinion web sites that get articles forwarded around a ton on social media, Jezebel, targeted at "middle class" white feminists in the US/UK, and The Root, targeted at "middle class" black people in the US/UK, and Univision pays the Jezebel writers to call The Root writers anti-woman in their articles, all day long, while paying The Root writers to call Jezebel writers racist, all day long, and now Univision has folded all of their sites under one user interface with seamless cross-posting across sites, guaranteeing that the readers of either site see articles condemning that site as soon as they log on to their favorite Web site every day to forward articles to social media, as well as seeing a "community" of comment posters below each article with user-rated top comments, all of them out for blood for the readers of the opposing site, to foster the idea of two warring online armies through as many channels as possible. i have some problems with techno-fetishist solutions to entrenched social problems

Juicero — the Silicon Valley company known for its $US400, Wifi-enabled juicer — shut down and suspended sales of its presses and produce packs Saturday.

Meanwhile, its founder and raw food evangelist Doug Evans is in the Nevada desert for Burning Man, the annual festival known for its wild art, costumes, and parties.

Evans has posted several Instagrams at the festival in the past few days. In the one below, he blows fire from a tricked-out bicycle:

Unfortunately Canada is forbidden by NAFTA to stop selling California the billions of gallons of water they need to irrigate their pristine lawns and golf courses, otherwise I'm pretty sure the whole state would turn to dust in minutes.
