rent in virtual markets

Frustration over Final Fantasy XIV’s housing shortage has come to a head after two players angered a lot of others by buying up 28 homes in the land-strapped massively multiplayer online game. Now, players are questioning whether virtual housing is an equal right or a privilege meant for the rich and over-dedicated.

Little known fact: Josef Stalin, under direct orders from Stalin himself, personally escorted the Enola Gay on it's way to Japan with a brief stopover in Cologne. Piloting a Yak-9K, the only variant armed with a modified 45 mm NS-45 cannon in the nose section(!!!), Stalin successfully fended off squadrons of Nazi flybois although not enough to get points to upgrade his compressor. This film is the only known evidence that Stalin actually did something wrong (by doing something right, of course). You can read more in Grover R.R. Furr's epic "Blood Anus".

Finished until dawn slaughtering every decadent petty bourgeois teen and man was that good. Had to retry an epissode before actually managing to do that but otherwise leading them to their deaths followed your basic horror film logic ie. "divide-and-conquer", curiosity kills The cat etc.

It would be fun if a waste of effort to have strategy games from a people's perspective, though maybe that's fundamentally impossible. "The pinnacle of grand strategy" EU4 models rebels of all stripes as a nuisance that pops up when you conquer other cultures or religions. Though you can let revolutionary rebels sack your capital in order to give you better bonuses for imperial conquest.

Are there any strategy games that are more ground up or at least give non-state actors a bit more nuance? I wonder, I'm pretty or of touch with games now

freedom fighters was a very satisfying real time tactics game, although the people's war is, ahem, red dawn style paranoia.

there's the highly imaginative homefront: the revolution, where you launch a people's revolution against the north korea, who have taken over america. although it's obvious that the korea's people's army is really just a transposed american army, since the war happens as the koreans come into a economically weak america, starting with goods and foodstuffs and small amounts of soldiers to distribute them, then ramping them up to an occupation force and selecting morally-weak locals to act as their intermediaries, providing them with a better arrangement. the rebels are a ragtag force with homemade weapons and molotovs, rc cars with bombs on them against armoured cars, and soldiers with guns that are dna-locked.
thus, obviously it's an american invasion in any country, but with the names changed to allow distribution.
there's also the expansion for sid meier's alpha centaurai, with the free drones faction. although they suffer a penalty to research, they have an advantage to production, so they can have large armies. they also have the ability to use spies to incite the drones (the game's equivalent to workers) in enemy cities to rebel, as do other factions, however the riot doesn't just cause loss in production to they are placated, but instead can go over the free drones faction, similar to how the red army advanced across the ukraine.

i have a preorder on a snes mini which will probably tide me over for a year or two until i can get a switch. cant wait for it to come out so in the meantime im watching a bunch of game center cx in my spare time. it has the added bonus of reminding me of japan, a place i enjoy even though its obviously very messed up sexually and i guess politically. apart from that, i still think video games stink

didn't that game just crudely cannibalise (heh) native american mythology ala hannibal + play every shitty b-movie trope... on a triple A video game budget? with rami malek to boot?

i don't understand caPItalism

i wish in civ that was a development option, side w/ the revs and industrially revolutionize in 20 years, or ever not extinguish the barbarians

i get why these things don't happen and it's not cuz it wouldn't be fun

Yeah it was insane i had zero reason to enjoy it but i did and i dont know why

Maybe because it was fun..?

Noticed this video game is largely derivative of already existing stories & the whole story almost seems like some sort of hollow shell to justify using hookshot on the weird wooden planks all over the place (doesn't make sense btw) just to get a few humble "soul coins" which I can trade for "strength points"
