America has vbasically set up special economic zones for gambling where outright theft from addicts is legal. On the other hand if you go to most casino you will in fact find a video arcade full of abandoned kids. But i think ovreall the video game is more important to keep young people home and waste their potential for productivity, and we've well past the point of making them a destination experience, and also hit a bit of ceiling where technological advance can't possiblty make things any more addictive in video game land, anyway keep your hands off the syria thread mf

I flip-flop between thinking that video games are just a waste of time and that I should probably stop playing them and focus on something more productive :/

the idea that playing video games is not a revolutionary activity is completely wrong. it is a territory for ideological struggle where people are turning to an escape. revolutionary activity in video games is the modern day equivalent to passing out revolutionary literature in opium dens and being the bright light in their moment of darkness. if mao was alive today, he would be in a call of duty lobby. so far i dont know how successful my efforts have been, but i have been able to inform hundreds of people on the inappropriateness of homophobic slurs.

have you ever lookjd at the top videos on youtube and theye always some really bad "gummis go crazy" or "the finger family go to a haunted mansion" or "spider man teaches colors"

cuz the reason tahts happening is the most effective way to keep small children sedate since we're not giving them little shots of booze or opium anymore is we're shoving phones in their faces and letting them watch "youtube kids" on autoplay.

you can make thousands of dollars just by loading up character replacement mods for GTA 5 and having spider man meet hulk and drive a banana car around.

the modern era is amazing and i wonder how much those kids are being fucked up by streaming the absolute worst shit into they eyes.

There have been a those who have stood up for the artwork created for games and comics: Daniel Vavra, Adrian Chmielarz, Mark Kern, and a slew of smaller indie devs. But with that being said, there are still way too many who fold immediately as soon as the Offendatrons mobilize as seen today with Lionhead Studios. They're letting a small vocal minority of people, who probably don't even buy their content, bully them into submission over cartoon boobs.

I feel like it's a 2v2 fistfight in a dark alley and we're swinging away while they sit against the wall sucking on their thumb waiting to get their teeth kicked in. I will staunchly defend any artist or creator who proudly defends their work, but after going at it for this long if you're going to crumble and censor yourself over the slightest bit of pressure then you can go fuck yourself. I know it's probably the unpopular opinion because people still want to be supportive of devs and I totally understand that but I won't fight for people who won't fight for themselves."
