e: These are the twitter posting clients from his latest tweets. API doesn't specify device ID, but you can at least see the software varies, including different smartphones. With this in mind it's more likely he rambles a lot of stuff to aides who run off and format them into potential tweets, he approves the ones he likes and they get broadcast at set times.

i bet he writes the tweets where he is yelling in all caps about the existence of the judicial branch; i.e., the ones that own

Maybe if I knew more about accelerationism (the theory of the hopeless).

i am not really able to entertain the idea that the liberals i know are too stupid to understand how a factually correct left line tracing continuity from Obama to Trump implicates some of their behavior over the past eight years. I can't accept either that they are too weak-willed to adjust their own politics either right or left as the influences in their lives, most pointedly their relative position within the economy, suggest.

i think it's easy to forget that the majority of people out there are more focused on getting through a day of alienated work and talking about sunday's crazy football game than they are about how the deep state functions or w/e.

i mean maybe your work crew is different but from my experience the limited political discussions that do pop up are usually just headline bits about trump doing something crazy or how it wasn't obama's fault that congress didn't get along. then everybody goes back to work and any further thought is immediately forgotten

that's actually hard to forget so i don't really understand what you're trying to say, you're replying to a comment saying that liberals aren't so stupid that when i say "trump is continuing obama's policies" they somehow think their support for obama isn't being derided.

#374
in general it maybe helps if you look at posts in context of the discussion in which they occur. for instance, that post is part of a discussion on whether it's worthwhile to bring up liberal support for right-wing policies practiced by the Obama administration when talking in mixed political groups about opposition to similar policies by the Trump administration. it doesn't have much to do with people's love for football, which is good to have.

does the endgame of accelerationism involve communist machines, that allow people to quit their jobs, being sold by capitalists on the market? cuz if so then lol

if you mean

does the new meaning of accelerationism put forward by nick srnicek ('inventing the future') and the rest of his coterie of verso hounds boil down to "capitalism will automate itself out of existence and we can help this along by voting for labour until they give us a universal basic income, yadda yadda something yadda, fully automated luxury communism"?

then the answer is yes

#381
new accelerationism / fully automated luxury communism assumes that the insane automation of late capitalism is somehow not dependent on the petro-economy that is going to broil our grandchildren. handwaving about wind turbines isn't going to make the robot factory that assembles your favorite smart phone sustainable

accelerationism is just the singularity for leftists & the only thing we should automate is giving wedgies to these colossal dorks

i have always assumed that accelerationism is like a really nice-looking door with "AUTOMATED PARADISE" written on it but inside there's just a bunch of dudes with red scarves killing anybody with glasses
#384
i never really heard much about the techno aspects of accelerationism and always just thought of it this way:

Benjamin Noys, who actually coined the term accelerationism, does indeed present it somewhat like this, as “an exotic variant of la politique du pire: if capitalism generates its own forces of dissolution then the necessity is to radicalise capitalism itself: the worse the better.” But perhaps Noys’ critique is a bit unfair. Accelerationism is a new response to the specific conditions of today’s neoliberal, globalized and networked, capitalism. But it is solidly rooted in traditional Marxist thought. Marx himself writes both of capitalism’s revolutionary effects, and of the contradictions that render it unviable. On the one hand, Marx and Engels write in the Manifesto that capitalism is characterized by

Constant revolutionizing of production, uninterrupted disturbance of all social conditions, everlasting uncertainty and agitation… All that is solid melts into air, all that is holy is profaned, and man is at last compelled to face with sober senses his real conditions of life, and his relations with his kind.

#385
the endgame of accelerationism involves a bunch of bullshit!!!!!!

oh good i look forward to your lengthy & detailed essay on this topic then.

you should click that link then. neocons were trots devoted to a mechanistic theory of history that required american imperial might to accelerate the sweeping away of reactionary regimes in targetted countries.

basically the historical equivalent of of how the ISO went from being the center-right wing of american socialists to openly embracing the missile with the iran-iraq war and yugoslavia. cliff was a shachtmanite etc etc
#389
humans have the right to destroy the planet as long as its after wage labor and the fiat currency of the fascist state vanishes
#390
mind u i think the rationale is that society wd expend an awful lot less energy and resources with reduced "superfluous production" if nobody was obliged to go work for a wage. i dont rly buy it however
#391
i always thought accelerationism was the idea that capitalism, unless resisted, will always degrade the conditions of greater and greater parts of the working people, until a revolution becomes inevitable, as people's blinders to the evils of capitalism are lifted.
i've never liked it, because people's suffering matters right now, and how will people trust someone so deceitful?
of course we all know that it's evils are suffered by the vast majority of humanity, far from the homes and businesses of those that wrought them. just a coincidence of geography doesn't entitle us to believe that we deserve this good treatment, or worse, that our efforts are worth more than those in worse straits. our governments want us to be grateful, whilst profiting of human suffering in distant (or out of sight) places. the need for revolution is evident to all compassionate souls, people just need to believe that something better can follow.

accelerationism is now embraced by the democrats as a legitimate strategy in 2017:

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/house-democrats-trump-strategy-234815

"House Democrats’ strategy is basically this: They’ll publicly goad Trump on subjects he’s clearly sensitive about, like insinuating he’s being blackmailed by Russian President Vladimir Putin; and on other issues, like Obamacare and tax reform, they’ll get out of the way and let Trump and House Republicans fall on their face."

house democrats' strategy is basically this: they'll make noise about dumb bullshit that doesn't matter; and on other issues that actually do matter, they'll get out of the way and let racists and reactionaries murder people and get rich doing it
