I was Aberrant Beast, a person who posted like twice before forgetting my password and the e-mail account tied to my account. I wasn't handing over another 10$ to get back on. The e-mail/password thing is the same reason why I don't post on wddp. I got my account reactivated twice but then remembered I had no way to log in. I'm a natural born lurker so it isn't like anything of value was lost.

#168
i only posted that as an excuse to post because maybe I'll try to be more active?
#169
I mostly lurked on old LF as FUCK YOU DAD
#170
I'm the reason was a lf meme emoticon & there fore also the reason it's here on this forum. So you can't really deny the fact that I've contributed something concrete to this forum, no matter how swampman tries to Stalinize me. (Bad thing to do btw. Stalin was bad. Mad?)

whoa its crazy that some of yall have like a decade of posting history in one political forum or another. Considering the attrition rate of 'being mad online', you veterans must have indomitable wills and/or commitment to the immortal science.
#177
belphegor! I dunno if you're being sarcastic because I'm experiencing a sort of irony overload here because this place has a VERY high dose of ironic distance that I am still getting used to

but I think it's important to know that I EXTREMELY wanted to name my kitties belphegor and abaddon, but my partner wasn't into it
#178
the idea of posting around a crypto-fascist has given me a lot of insight into the utility of this dose of ironic distance
#179
do any of y'all commies/non-misanthropes find that it is possible to actually engage with people like the goat and this crypto-fascist guy in good faith?

I'm not being sarcastic I am still not used to the ironic distance myself. those are badass kitty names

I arrived at this forum after a pretty rapid shift in my beliefs ( I was pretty religious and pacifist, now I am less religious and no longer pacifist) so I am still learning how to Post in a way that does not betray my naivete/sincerity.

some misanthrope may come along now and quote this entire post back into the thread without comment as some sort of 'own' . then I will be sad but it will pass. Irony is good but we must all continue to stave off the poisoning by taking vitamins, which in this case are wholesome memes, or christian wholesome memes if you prefer.

there aren't a lot of places to go online if you want to discuss Ultra Left HD topics so you kind of have to make do with what's available

the hardest part for me over the years was watching the communities fragment repeatedly over minor issues and then refuse to open their doors to new members, especially after i warned people multiple times that it was a sure path to a dead community. unsurprisingly that's pretty much what ended up happening. this is the only forum so far that's actually done things the right way imo. a front page to invite new people, open registration and a light-handed moderation

you done good rhizzone

some people try but you have to understand that we're a lot more relaxed here than other places. if somebody says something stupid or inconsiderate they tend to just get downvoted and maybe a few words are exchanged before everyone moves on. you learn from your mistakes (hopefully) and become a better person/poster

this is not my experience of what happens when you close the doors to a community.

when I mentioned that I felt like shevek from annares i meant that on multiple levels and i keep finding more the longer i stay

this is a very interesting approach. it has it's advantages, but absolutely has its drawbacks.
it makes the ironic distance necessary, you can't be vulnerable here.
it forces you to engage with certain kinds of ideologies or dynamics and harden to them, but it also thickens the callouses.
it's important to have armor, but imo it's also important to have spaces to take off that armor and actually feel the things that consume us.
do y'all feel like being in the habit of irony posting so much ever impacts your ability to turn it off?

interesting. this is all very interesting. iiiiiinteresting interesting place you all have here.

what makes the rhizzone good is it doesn't cremate care in liberalism. thanks for caring, and welcome to the dubya dippers, in my humble opinion
#190
cremate care?
I want to understand, please rephrase
#191
something you should know about me if I start posting here more regularly, is that occasionally I am very high and it is difficult to make sense of words.

but it is okay fbi because it is with legal drugs
#192
parabolart is also high or drunk a lot of the time and doesn't make any sense to anyone including himself, so it's ok

hi mugabe_glasses, welcome (back?) to the slow burning garbage dump that is "the rhizzone". i appreciate your cat tweets

also hello everyone else.

i am the curmudgeonly, neglectful site admin. if something is wrong on the website, you can yell at me over and over and over about it and sometimes i will listen. most of it dates from far before my time but i can often(?) fix it. enjoy all the bad posts!
#193
english is not my first language so i write in strange analogies in an attempt to capture my initial feeling on the subject. cremation of care is an intentionally misplaced reference to an infowars alex jones thing but to imply that liberalism deals with issues by propagating their own unique suffering and sedating themselves on issues of socialist solidarity but then again there's a lot of that here. anyway i'm not one to talk i barely post but i appreciate others' critiques

no, because i have other communities and relationships where i can be heartfelt, open and genuine. i want to say though, that this space isn't exclusively a dialectical crucible of conflict where everyone needs to have their "armour up" all the time.

the community here has grown up and matured from its origins. what is acceptable in a conversation can vary from thread to thread, and most people here are adult enough to recognize and respect those differences. there are spaces for rude and rowdy sparring conflict; there are spaces for scholarly reading, teaching, and learning; and there are spaces for grieving and nurturing.

sometimes that breaks down, this place definitely isn't designed for mental health support and shouldn't be treated as such. it's good to recognize that this space can't be everything, can't fill everyone's needs. but i think it's a mistake to pigeonhole the entire community as an all irony all the time free for all.

PS I don't think I ever properly thanked you for that care package you sent me in Panama. Thanks dude!
