Africville was a black community in Nova Scotia. As such, it was shit on constantly by white Nova Scotians, who eventually just kicked them all out of their homes. Recently, Halifax set up seed money for a trust that would aim to build a centre that commemorates black struggles in Nova Scotia and Canada. The heritage trust wants to build a church and a living museum sort of thing.

Anyway, they hired a white person to launch and run the whole project in its critical development years. So a black lawyer said "hey that doesn't seem right." in his example, imagine there was a women's centre being set up: if were putting all the day-to-day power over the project in the hands of a man, it would be fairly obvious that people might reasonably object. so the board said that race had absolutely no place in their decision and that they just wanted to hire the best person for the job. the new hire implied that the complaining was costing them potential donors.

Its OK to be black and proud, but if you ever said you were proud of being white your a racist! Live by your merits, stop blaming others and always looking for an excuse for everything that does not go right in your lives, the colour card is wearing very thin, what are you going to do when there are no more whites to blame?

In Halifax and area "Black Activist" means something completely different.
All indications i have seen in public and the media are the black activists are simply reverse racists.
They dont even realize that this is reverse racism, pure and simple!

imo the commenting people are frustrated by the fact that they aren't able to say something that is just an obvious fact: that they belong to a white nation.
the idea that whites must accommodate blacks isn't wrong because of some racialist prejudice or white supremacism, but because it denies not only the fact of a white nation but the possibility of a black one...
not that two such nations could ever positively be differentiated, but that only allowing for that fact can the whites ever take responsibility for their crimes and the blacks get a hold on liberation
