You never know whether someone you meet is a CIA agent or just a product of CIA thought.

The ceaseless self-promotion, the weird devotion of nerds online, the pathetic attempts to seem like they are living some kind of edgy lifestyle by sometimes going to a goth club and having sex with strangers, it all fits.
I googled this and he apparently is involved with "eve online", the goon favorite video game. you should do an exiled style takedown of this guy I love those.

she's basically aligned with the US state on every subject possible
so she's kind of a different bag from the pure beige left-liberal, she's a far-right tourist and a solid piece of evidence in the case that the DSA is doing a very poor job of vetting the people aiming to become their new top dogs. that a lot of them are suck-up bourgeois careerists isn't a surprise, i wrote about this back when Sanders first announced, how a lot of people behind his "grassroots" campaign just see the future of "socialism" in the U.S. as a quixotic quest that will get them a new Prius and a byline.
But it's still a little of a surprise to me that the DSA proper seems to honestly not care if people who Red-hunt alongside Neo-Nazis join up, people with indisputable links to genuine spooks and white supremacists, with purely mercenary attitudes and long records of fucking rivals over out of pure spite. like, it's not good politics, but it's also piss-poor practical planning that could lead to a huge public relations debacle at a crucial moment in the near future.
Otherwise, Crabapple is a spook in the sense of the groundbreaking all-too-real tour de force, Spooks by E.M. Quangel. meaning that there's no reason she has to take paychecks from the CIA directly because she exists as a willing, bad-faith piece of a media machine where willingness to parrot bourgeois-state propaganda gets traded in for career progress through eye-popping content.

but when they're actually like, pals with Neo-Nazis who hack into leftists' Web sites, it's significantly different than this shit i see in this thread where people are like "oh she's an activist who had a twitter beef".

well, the rhizzone is a known fascist gathering site
i just have a problem with what I see as playing down and smoothing over that behavior like it's a disagreement over, say, the issues that prompted that debate. like i don't agree with her over Syria, right, but this shit where you expose people arguing in good faith within the left, however vehemently, actually point their employer right at them in an attempt to get them fired, in an environment where a lot of the people now becoming sympathetic to socialist ideas fear reprisal, seems to me to be really bad, and even moreso if you're someone who's lucky enough to have a commercialized public persona as an "activist".
if i had to guess i'd say that the people who welcomed people such as Molly without question did so out of some varied balance of ignorance of what she's done and, where that wasn't the major factor, a preexisting bias for believing the less radical over the more radical individual party in matters of facts that is really nothing more than watered-down reactionary antipathy to leftism within purported leftists, caused by bad reasoning about the causes of lack of popular support for leftist movements in the recent past. it's akin in a lot of ways to how it was hot when i was younger for anarchists to declare themselves post-left and become bourgeois tourists of the militia movement (although they were at least still wary of people who tried to get leftists fired over political debates).
for me, what it boils down to is that i could have visited outings and witch-hunt behavior at least a few times in my life on people who were taking positions i felt were bad, people who leveled what i saw as unfair accusations against me, but i didn't do that because reprising in that way against people within the left, as though they were corporate hotshots with toddlers' skeletons in their basements, and especially involving shady people to make it happen, would make me the liability. and so when i see that behavior, i think, either someone is not doing their job or they are doing their job and their job is to be a problem for the left, whether they realize it or not.

MC is the sort of person that squad has enjoyed mocking since the eXile was in print, like I think they'd have a lot of fun discussing her Ironic Racist/soviet kitsch burlesque shows alongside her maudlin propaganda deliveries about the middle east/north africa, but i think they would probably consider writing an entire article about things like that to be punching down.
besides, that article has already been written and it would be hard to top.

but like most anti-communist "socialists" in recent history, they're supposedly anti-McCarthyism, and that's obviously smart for them and they should probably stick to it.
