it'll probably look something like that, yeah. there isn't an oncoming schism in our internal politics or anything, we're just recognizing that some of the things we do like allied actions with other friendly more presentable orgs could easily get a little granting and pay for themselves if they were dressed up nicer, which would leave more of our existing resources for the fun stuff that would never receive external support in a million years. it is still gonna complicate and thereby weaken our position though.

like as a hypothetical example there are ways to get funding, in-kind resources and bright-eyed volunteers for a cop-free community patrol and physical safe zones initiative in a neighborhood that has sons of odin troubles, but when you include a critical cop watch component suddenly your supports get cold feet. so the idea is to run them in parallel with the same core people but different organizational bodies on paper.

has anybody noticed that nobody can shut the fuck up about the singularity all of a sudden. not only is the singularity not nigh because 99% of artificial intelligence people are still locked into bad computational theory of mind but even the people forging ahead in AI and AL with embodied and enactive robotics/intelligence are barely, barely at the level where they can maybe make a small robot walk like a bug until it runs into a wall. nerds need to cut out this techno fetishism immediately or ill be ever so upset
