i think i mostly agree with everything here but i'm a little unsure about the last paragraph. if you had your druthers, what would a schema of security measurement look like? it seems to me that no metric of threat or threatened-ness can be completely depoliticised

what about individuals that are threats to themselves (voting for hamas or something)?
