North Korea has forbidden people from making sarcastic comments about Kim Jong-un or his totalitarian regime in their everyday conversations.
Even indirect criticism of the authoritarian government has been banned, Asian media reported.
Residents were warned against criticising the state in a series of mass meetings held by functionaries across the country.
“One state security official personally organised a meeting to alert local residents to potential ‘hostile actions’ by internal rebellious elements,” a source in Jagang Province told Radio Free Asia’s Korean Service.
“The main point of the lecture was ‘Keep your mouths shut.’”
The caution was also issued in neighbouring Yangang Province, sources revealed.
Officials told people that sarcastic expressions such as “This is all America’s fault” would constitute unacceptable criticism of the regime.
When asked for comment, "Tears" responded by noting that the Nazis also had journalism articles.

When people post stuff like "actually North Korea is far more democratic than the USA by the standards of liberalism" or "the USA had a famine in which millions died by the same standard of evidence used against the USSR" is that you're supposed to react negatively. But then you're supposed to think about why you reacted negatively and hopefully come to the realization that many of your beliefs are not based on evidence at all, just 'common sense' assumptions which are informed by anti-communism without even thinking about it. Like, "what do I really know about North Korea that hasn't been impacted in some way by anti-communism?" or "if I were to believe every charge against Stalin is false what would the consequences of that belief be?" The childish response is either to resist because it sounds ridiculous on its face or wholeheartedly embrace whatever you just learned and become the #1 Juche fan, sounds like you fear either one happening to you.
