Will Obama make Cuba extradite Assata Shakur?
#2
Prob not
#3
i don't think it is really possible to guess what will happen in cuba soon because the situation is so volatile and dependent on outside events. like venezuela's oil aid program could end. raul castro could leave office. they might roll out another round of market and investment reforms. sam farber could invade with a trotskyist army.
#4
Will Obama fuck my face?
#5
Probably ya
#6
It seems like a pretty dumb concession to extract. Assata Shakur for everyone tweeting about condom pizza wd be a deal I could live with tho
#7
the cuban people's very long long history of anti-imperialism and international solidarity ensures they would never comply with such a demand, fucko
#8
Yes, she'll come home just in time to be hitlary's running mate and his secret plan to impose world communism will finally be underway
#9
Obama will be bringing Assata back with him, yes, but he'll pardon her first.

You have to admire even a politician who won't reverse a stance on Castro while in Florida on a Spanish language tv channel. That's the definition of a principled stance that is politically disadvantageous.
#13
yeah but were the gusanos ever going to vote for a """socialist""" anyway?
#14
No of course not. But you have to admire that he didn't even attempt to pander.

What "The Dark Knight Rises" can tell us about Obama's future policy on the extradition of Assata Shakur
#23
update, apparently a bunch of imperialist media stooges are now reporting anew on this: http://www.telesurtv.net/english/news/US-Media-Lie-Claim-Cuba-Could-Extradite-Assata-Shakur-20160606-0040.html

Cuba has always been very clear on their unwillingness to extradite political refugees. Given the somewhat sporadic attention thus far, it's hard to say yet whether this latest 'news' is just a coked up underling speculating to reporters off the record or a dedicated plan as part of a larger psyop against the cuban people.

Where can I bet an Aristide-style nabbing
#25
I would probably not invest a lot of hope into the small island right now, the situation could change dramatically within a few years. If Venezuela goes Full Hitler and Brazil's coup regime sticks then one of their priorities will probably be to crush Cuba. Which I think Cuba understands, which is why they fired half a million workers, opened an SEZ and are legalizing medium-sized corporations.

cuba has this magical leprechaun status in the world oil economy. everyone agrees there's a ton of oil in its territory, billions of barrels of everything in demand, but almost no one wants to look because 1) it's communist cuba, and 2) previous tries have left a fail trail no one wants to hike. still it's one discovery & seizure away from becoming a minor petrostate imo, and as we see with venezuela that guarantees security against the monroe doctrine.

this was considered a conciliatory speech at the time since he didn't actually call the president of the united states "el diablo".
#34
the official FBI price on Assata Shakur's head was raised to $2 million in 2013. i don't know why the u.s. government would see the need for official proceedings if they can get a foothold in havana.
#35
Why would states contrive a process for things they are planning on doing anyway? You've got me, daddyholes.

you could go to pakistan and ask some people in a neighborhood in abbottabad that question. someone moves her out of there, the cuban government complains, everything goes on like it would anyway with raiding the cuban economy, that might happen is all i'm saying.

then you could tell that to nemtsov.
